  • cool,i thought this was david whittakers music.

  • Brings back memories looking at this :-) Those dudes in Paradize sure knew how to code!

  • They sure did :) But just for the record, this part was not coded by Paradize ;)

  • Lol.. i remember it beeing Paradize, suppose after all those years my memory got it wrong :)

  • Well this is one part in a coop demo between IA and Paradize, this being a part by IA (of which I was a part at the time)

  • Very nice production. How is that vertical split-screen done?

  • That's a secret :) Well the left half is characters, the right is (multiplexed) sprites. If you look closely the right image has one color less, which had something to do with weird VIC behaviour making it necessary to sacrifice one color.

Now aren't you going to ask how I got a 40 characters scroller in the lower side border? :)

  • How DID you get a 40 char scroller in the lower border? :-)

Is it just sprites (low resolution) or is it possible to do high res in lower border?

  • It IS lowres sprites, but if you look closely the leftmost and rightmost column of pixels in every char hires (1px) and the pixels in between are stretched (2px). That's because I blocked the big pixels left and right with a mask of vertical black lines using a $3fff pattern.

  • kitcar this is a c64 mind so credit where due

  • one of the best musics ever heard in the scene.

    demo quite poor though

  • If you like this tune, check out Reyn Ouwehands tune Dignified. All the sounds I used are shamelessly stolen from that tune, and it is at least 10 times better ;)

  • Awww, the good old days :)

  • Very good, i heard this song before, he is in my favoritlist. ;)

  • Still looks and sounds fantastic all these years later

  • really cool. nice sound. wish i could program stuff like that too....

  • nice c64 demo, I couldnt beleive the start of that music, sounds like real synth.

  • that's a real SID synth. If you like that try to search for the c64 game music 'dark side'.
