hi this is TattoAnt @ customillusion21@yahoo.com i want to do the same thing you did to your lights to my mustang i need a more step by step can you help me
I have a 2008 VW Touareg V6 Galapagos Grey, i have front LED stripes at the bottom in the outside part of the headlights, but taking the car to the car wash once a week is very risky and they'll get damage very soon maybe, i think the LED stripes will last more if i can place them inside the headlights as you showed in this video, they need to be waterproof also, any suggestions on how i can do that in my car? My email: elduronyc666@gmail.com
You scraped the plastic all along the ground and the LEDs don't even lie flat. Also not using silicone to reseal the headlights is just asking for condensation.
he showed the same light twice trying to tell us that it was the light he'd just installed.. so yeah... not the sharpest knife in the box, dumbass, actually show the light you did you bellsniff.
Great vid, I gotta jetta I want to do the same thing but taking off the lense seems alot work and also how do u seal that lens properly??, also where did u get the LED kit??
am i the only person that noticed he showed the same light in the begining of the video and the end but yet the one he was trying to show us how to put the lights in was the other so that doesn't prove that it actually works the way he says
@YoUnGCaTo94 the beginning segment was filmed the next day. the segment where i put the lights in was filmed the previous day, but i didnt have an introduction, so i decided to make one after i filmed the process...
@MsBharat111 there is another guy on here that put the light housing in the oven and it seemed to have worked better than this one and let me add try and find double sided tape that is clear unlike the white kind in this vid
@MsBharat111 for an 01 jetta, you will need to remove the bumper, unscrew the headlight, melt the seal of the glass, insert the leds, wire them, then place it back. i would line up the leds along the bottom of the headlight.
I did this on my center tail light on my hachback since the light blown and melted the wire and was going to cost 45 bucks for a new one so I got on of these led strips for 12 bucks at walmart and it worked.
@modzilla28349 These new plastic ones now are not worth a flip since I got my car in 2005 I had to replace them 2 times due to the first time UV damage and the second time a damn bird hit it and cracked it
@modzilla28349 yup and then he tell's us try and not do it. nice light set up but why did he use white double sided tape? they sell clear and I think black but why white on black.
@cartzar anytime, its just an extra precaution to make sure no moisture gets in there after it rains. I live in ny so I have had to deal with snow, rain, and all types of craziness, anything I can do to help out
Great video. One thing I would like to add, due to you taking the headlight housing apart, the "glue" that seals it, might not properly seal all the way like it does from the factory. This is a trick I learned when installing aftermarket headlights in a few of my vehicles. Get some clear caulking from a hardware store and run a small bead of caulk around the edge of the headlight lens after re-installing it. Make sure its dry and cool before doing so though. This will keep moisture out.
Dnt guess wires buy a multimeter -___-

don't you have any problems when it rains? because the sealent doesn't work as well as it did before or does it?
resivoltio 3 months ago
@resivoltio the seal actually works great. after the reheat, the seal melted right back into place. so still no moisture within the headlights.
