no my friends, it is YOU who are totally wrong. it's only americans who alter their pronunciation of words from other languages in the flow of speaking, in a most lame attempt to be politically correct. there was a hilarious SNL skit on this w/ a news announcer pronouncing the names of latin american countries w/ a hyped up spanish accent. do you hear speakers from other countries doing this w/ english words? no. case closed.

Hog wash. This just burns me up.
The word is Japanese. It should be pronounced as Japanese. Kahn Bahn is the proper pronunciation. PERIOD. It's not even that hard to get right!
You don't hear people calling tacos "take-ohs" do you?
