Respectfully - Walmart and their critics can scrutinize the histories and policies for legal evidence, instead of the sometimes awful behavior in political campaigns of Democrat versus Republican.
Can Rob Walton a lawyer and the leader of Walmart with their supporters and associations such as The American Legislative Exchange Council disprove and debunk their critics?
Walmart and alike may comment, it is unnecessary to explain our culture corporate responsibilities to our critics.
I believe in everything Greenwald stands for and am so grateful he's made exposing hypocrasy and corruption. But in regards to they're arguement on this video. I just checked the doc and it appears to me that Tucker is right. But more importantly than that goof being right was Greenwalds position. I couldnt find the part that clearly states the hardware store closed its doors before walmart came to town. Greenwald is absolutely right. The substance of the issue is the taxpayer money.Am I wrong
Tucker Carlson is a D-bag!!!!! It says right in the movie that they closed because they couldnt get a loan from the bank because they were paying for walmart to come in the town. So in fact h&h closed because walmart was costing the bank. so carlson fuck off and watch the movie again. and the next time you want a guest to come on the show maybe you should let them talk. A hole
bottom line is, if you arent willing to work for the prices the company is willing to pay, dont work for that company simple as that. If you dont like what your getting paid, ask for a raise or quit. people are stupid. employees are not forced to work for walmart.
All of Greenwald's arguments are houses of cards. This is a guy that lives on MSNBC claiming that FOX is failing and pretending to be concerned with biased news outlets...on MSNBC.
Besides, if you don't wanna work there and get the wages, don't apply. It's as simple as that! And no, it's not entirely true that they don't give benefits or healthcare. They may be more stingy about it, but they don't force all their poorer employees to go on medicaid or other programs. It's fucking bullshit.
Here's what Greenwald was trying to say before he got cut off; H&H DID close because of Wal-Mart just not because of the competition and I agree the film was misleading in that respect. The hardware store closed because the value of the property had been driven down by Wal-Mart months before it opened.
I'm not making a case for either viewpoint, but I must say that interviewers who continually cut off their guests and never let them finish a sentence don't really come off too well. In fact, they come off like trying to push their own opinions instead of actually looking for an answer. Very few things in life are black/white or yes/no, which means if you expect a REAL answer, then you need to let your guest speak - otherwise, you really just have your own agenda.
Greenwald expresses some good points perfectly, given the limited amount of time he has. We all know Carlson's a right-wing stooge who'd kill to jump ship to Fox News. Only someone who believes in Social Darwinism - a social "survival of the fittest" could ever support Wal-Mart's wage-slave mentality.
What "wage-slave" bullshit? have you ever worked there? Don't buy the talking points that they pay workers these cheap labor wages like in Mexico or China. It's not true. I worked for a summer just a few years ago as a cashier there, and I made $7.40 an hour, to start. That was higher than when I got hired at one of my university jobs at Capital U. (started around 6.89 I think). I was almost gonna get a job as a cart-pusher for somewhere around 6.50 or 7 bucks at Shop n save earlier.
I'm not sure what movie Tucker watched, but I watched this film over a year ago and I still remember it showing and making the exact points that Greenwald is reiterating here.
He watched it an hour before going on the air? Must have memory issues.

I will never shop at Walmart. Corporate profit is destroying small businesses.

Had Greenwald had kept his cool, i'm sure he would have been able to better justify he position.

Tucker, the Talking Head who acts like that bratty class idiot (who thought he was brilliant, no matter what his report card said) we all hated.
