i remember one time last year a friend and myself went to visit san fransisco my friend suffered a heart attack i tried my cell phone but the battery was dead luckly there was a call box it was good to still get help by being able to do that but people need to be responsable when it comes to useing them because if they relize that if someone did that to them or there family and friends when they needed help they would be pissed too
@samatention In cali though, when you call 911 on a cell phone, it goes directly to the CHP dispatch in ether Vallejo or LA, I cant remeber. Then you have to wait for them to connect you to the nearest 911 dispatching center.
False alarms has got to stop. It cost the city thousands of dollars in lost wages and also due to stress with fire departments going to the scene of the supposed alarm source only to find out there is no fire, and just a false alarm.
These fire boxes are for emergencies . Think about it next time you get the urge that someone may have a real life threatening emergency . It may be someone you love . Also , I have found out that not only pransters pull these , but mentally ill folks do to and they need to be educated and helped .
Hmm, I've never seen those--street boxes--before. I'm not surprised that they're being pulled, people like to jerk others around and do things like that.
