The dog just needs training and consistent commands, delivered a single time in a firm voice. Don't use common words, like "go". Your dog needs to take praise from your voice, so you can reinforce the behaviours you want from a distance on the run. Food reinforcements or touch does not work for ski joring. Training your dog to take praise/reward from a clicker or better yet "good dog" (etc) is an excellent first step to more complicated training.

LOL, looks like your dog was more interested in the scents! Sounded like you had very deep, soft snow and that is hard to walk or run in!
