@PrettyGirlOnPoint The reason why schools are so overcrowded is that LAUSD didn't build ANY schools for 34 years! That's a fact. The first NEW high school in South LA in 40+ years will open in Fall 2011 to relieve Fremont High. And that history has much more to do with taxes, and white people abandoning public education... 2nd - how do you think we ALL got here? White, Black, Brown - we all migrated to L.A. from someplace else to look for a better life for ourselves and families.

@mrpapafunky7879 : wrong - to graduate from HS in LA you only need two years of math - algebra I & geometry. A university requires that you take THREE years of math - including algebra II. That's what this whole fight was about.

I grow up in south central in I was in a gang. When I watch this it put tears on my eyes because our youth are finally realizing that education is important. The majority is mexicans and blacks here in watts. I love my black sisters and brothers and of course my mexicans sisters in brothers as well. I'm mexican that had a hard life. i'll support any Los Angelenos trying to make a difference. But I notice in the streets that people are waking up. Thank God. God Bless our people.

In Europe we got nothing like this - there are some differents of course, but it is much more balanced than in the US.
