Thanks for the compliments. I really don't know about the difference. I've never owned a Marshall with EL84's. Prior to this one, I'd only owned Fender amps. Sorry I can't help more.
I wish all YouTube reviews were this good. You did a great job talking about th important stuff and playing various rhythms and leads. Very nice job.
BTW, I will be buying a MetroAmp to build with my son this Christmas. I am undecided about the JTM45, the 50w Plexi, or even the 100w PPIMV (can remove 2 tubes for 50 watts, or kick it up to outside venues volume with 4 EL34's!)
I really like the JTM45. I can tell you though that the numbers can fool you. This mother is loud even though it's only 30W. I usually play small blues clubs and stuff and I rarely get to really stretch it's legs. I'd really like to build another Marshall kit, but I just don't need it. Good luck with your build!
i love how he is a solid blues player, i got a new SG its exactely like angus youngs ebony with white pick gaurd guitar but still has the gold hard wear, it is sick, and keep up your hard work
So your running the tube screamer in channel one? Are your channels jumped? I just got my JTM 45 and am playing aroun with different configurations. I have a 70's grey DOD 250 though. Are oyu running the el34's?
Yeah I think they always make a big difference. I've heard some compare it to taking a blanket of the front of your amp. I don't keep those sucky 300's in any of my Gibbos......
I'm confident that you can get an old school AC/DC sound without pedals. However, I'm sure that it would take a lot of volume to get there. I've got a newborn and a 2 year old, so I'm probably not going to get a chance to make a vid for those purposes just due to the volume issues. Thanks for watching!
can you get an perfect ac/dc sound with the jtm45 and the gibson sg without pedals? and if you have time , can you make a vid with the ac/dc setting? Thanks
hmm I wonder how one of these standards would sound on my 59slp ri.. I must find out :)

Damn....awesome playing. Are those the stock 498's in your SG? And where can I find England-made Celestions?

I would love to hear this without the tubescreamer and reverb, even with the JTM on low volume. And AC/DC on the bridge p/u. Nice vid. *****

Is there much of a difference between a JTM45 with KT66's and a Plexi 1987x with EL34's?
I am asking as i have both amps, but my JTM has the stock 5883 valves.
Savage playing by the way.....

Yeah I've got the channels jumped. This amp is a kit version that used KT66 tubes, NOT the EL34's....... Good luck!

Nice playing man! Why stretch the vid though? Makes you look like you weigh 1000 lbs!

Actually, I didn't stretch the video. I weigh 978 lbs.......
No I don't really know what was going on with it. My camera is setup for 16:9. I previewed the vid and it looked fine, now it's all crazy........
