there is a BIG no need for a quattro , all you need is a winter tyres ! we have golf mark 5 with brand new winter tyres (bridgstone) and i tell you did go to local mountain last week in 6" deep snow on the road going up hill like 12-15% no probs at all ! I was going to buy a A6 allroad but wife said NO ,thanks to her we saved £18k for what is not need ! winter tyres on any modern vehicle is the key for a safe drive in winter condition been snow or just temperatures below 0

I also have ESP in my A6, but i am not sure about ESP, I mean, it is ON when I push the button and when I got the icon on the dashboard, or it is ON, when there is nothing on the dash? Question is silly, but please, answer me! :)

Diesel Power?! hmmm in my opinion Audi A6 with DPF smoke from the exhaust is inadmissible . This means that the engine is something wrong, or you removed the DPF, if you did it is ok

Get some proper winter tyres such as nokian hakkapeliitta and you will actually make the car move. Our front-wheel drive opel astra 1.7 cdti moves quicker off the line with proper hakkapeliitta 5 studded winter tyres. This showoff was quite pathetic.

@Manakuski The whole point of the video was to show how the ESP kicks in.If he has winter tires he can turn the ESP off because at decent speed you have full control of the car.Besides,he has 4 wheel drive.He would have to drive really fast in order for us to actually see any difference.

ASR is what you are testing. The button says ESP but besides ESP it also turns off all the other electronic assistance systems like ASR,EDS.

ESP heisst ausgeschrieben Elektronisches Stabilitätsprogramm. ESP verhindert duch gezieltes Abbremsen einzelner Räder Unter- oder Übersteuern des Wagens, sprich: Es hält das Auto in der Kurve auf der Spur. Meist ist das ESP mit einem ASR (Wie bei diesem Audi) gekoppelt. ASR heisst Antischlupfregelung und verhindert ein übermässiges durchdrehen der Räder beim Beschleunigen durch gaswegnehmen (In diesem Video gut zu sehen, schwankender Drehzahlmesser).

OK ESP ist was anderes.

Ich finde es bedenklich mit Sommerreifen auf Schnee denn:

Beim Beschleunigen ganz klarer Fall das 4 Radantrieb auch bei Schnee und Sommerreifen wegkommt.

Doch beim Bremsen sinds auch nur 4 Reifen die gebremst werden sowie bei jedem anderen PKW auch.

Somit schon gefährlich und die "grünen" wenns sehen weiss ich nicht wie die reagieren denn Winterreifenpflicht ist Gesetz.

Bei Schneekettenpflicht kommt auch ein Quattro deshalb nicht ohne aus....

Ik het ook al meerdere malen uitgetest, echt goed hoe dat systeem de auto in bedwang houdt.

Wie die Vorredner scho geschrieben haben. Dieser Test hat nix mit ESP zu tun, eher mit ASR= Anti-Schlupf-Regelung. Aba Quattro ist scho was feines =) Dieselpower!

DU solltest evt. etwas leiser sein denn bei den Modernen Allradsystemen die Aktive Drehmoment verteilung haben (auch quattro) wird die verteilung des Allrades mittels Raddrehzahl sensoren gesteuert.

Und diese Raddrehzahl Sensoren steuern eben auch das ESP
