In relation to the actual issue on hand, Vela vs. Adu, Vela has simply proven himself more often than Adu. He doesn't score regularly for the full Mexican National team, but he still has a better strike rate for them than Adu has for the US (5 goals in 16 vs. 2 goals in 15)
Adu has the potential to be a star, and I really want him to be one trust me, but despite being at clubs of less stature than Vela has, he has not made as much of an impact at them
PS: Vela has only 1 EPL goal for Arsenal, but in games he has actually started in he has a pretty impressive goals-games ratio. In his 7 cup games last year, he got 5 goals and 3 assists. Watch his performances against Wigan and Sheffield if you want to see how good he is

Adebayor is gone to man city, when the fans watch their team struggle to keep on top of the standings in the primier they will make Arsenal get a house made person to substitute Adebayor. In relation to the actual issue on hand, Vela vs. Adu, Vela has simply proven himself more often than Adu. He doesn't score regularly for the full Mexican National team, but he still has a better strike rate for them than Adu has for the US (5 goals in 16 vs. 2 goals in 15)
Adu has the potential to be a star, and I really want him to be one trust me, but despite being at clubs of less stature than Vela has, he has not made as much of an impact at them

And to hushg2000, you may be right about most top teams selling their youngsters before they get a chance, but Arsenal are different. They always give young players chances. The only players who usually leave Arsenal are the established ones, who have all at one time been untested youth before Wenger got done with them (although that is probably even worse for Arsenal). It's only even close to that when the players become stars, not when they are still trying to break into the first team. How is vela a monster when he hasn't proved anything in the highest level or against the U.S team?!! Sure the kid is good, but he hardly ever plays now. He was better off in Osasuna playing day and night. Now he's nothing but a bench warmer in Arsenal. When he plays against the U.S on February you'll notice a big lag on his behalf for not playing daily. Altidore & Adu are in a whole different world guys! They are athletic and sprint like a mofo,... and have great footwork to top it off.

Vela is one of the answers, Carlos is an outstanding striker, he will be a top goal scorer and is one of the best finishers I have seen.

Sorry bro, but Adu wins this one! Vela is new to the scene. Adu has made great goals at Benfica to win games at the last minute, vela hasn't. Feddy has also put on a show when playing against big N.T like Spain early this year. He also put on a show against Celtic a few years ago. Adu can take on a couple of guys to break defenses, vela doesn't have that talent. Adu can sprint a lot faster than Vela, that's a fact! Adu has already played in Champions before vela has. Adu is far more superior!

I'm also an gunner, so I saw the Wigan goal, and I must say it was pretty good. I thought he was pretty terrible, especially with his free kicks in the Man U game. I still think Adu is faster, more creative, and has a more accurate shot. Vela definitely is more physical, and has a harder shot

Sorry, but I do know who Vela is my friend. I've been watching him play in Curuna and sub 15-17 man... Don't preach the game to me.. Adu has done better at a bigger level than Vela has. When Vela was playing minors, Adu was already in MLS. When Vela was loan out to Curuna Adu was already in Champions. Adu can split defenders and disrupt the Defence, Vela can't do that! Pure FACT! Adu vs Spain,Sweden,Celtic,England was incredible. Vela has yet to prove anything in the highest level, My 2cents!

carlos vela is a better player than adu he is playing for arsenal(one of the best teams in the world) and tearin it up when he plays he already scored a hat trick. he did amazing in salamanca and did alright with osasuna. what has adu done play for dc untd. he didnt do good in benifca and from what i heard hes struggling in monaco. none of those teams are half as good as arsenal and did i mention vela won the u17 worldcup and was the leading scorer in that tournament

How about Vela? Know one!lol Adu played great for FICA! He is on a loan so he can mature in the game. He is barely 18! He will be back at Benfica next season.
He is having a great season for Monaco, assisting others. Remember, he is a left midfielder, not a forward.

It not as challenging. They cant even compete with the rest of Europe, for the last yrs, Lyon has one hell of a team, could never get past last 16. PSG, Monaco and Mariselle have not had the form they all had a few years ago. I like the France national team, not the leauge. Freddy Adu is the most over rated player. Too much hype...supposibly he was the next "Pele". He should have played for Ghana, and then he'd be one of the best players. Carlos Velas has proven his worth, hes scored more then 25 goals in 2 yrs at Spain will assiting 23 times with Osasuna and Salmanca. Freddy has done nothing. Vela has 3 goals for Mexico, Adu nothin. Besides, he plays in France now, its not even that challenging

lo q tiene freddy Adu es q debuto muy joven y por eso ya lo ven como muy chingon, pero adu debuto en la liga americana, q pongan como la pongan todavia no es tan buena, mientras q vela debuta creo q en salamanca y pasa al osasuna, a la liga española

I know exactly why he was on loan...given it was due to the rules of the premiership....You have to earn a work permit, which oh by the way has nothing to do with him having to get loaned all year tho, The permit is hardly related to club football at all, it is purely owned through national team caps, which he should've thought over before last year, your bs law about 18 isn't true at all, "so please think about what ur gonna say" before you type it...Arsenal>Monaco=DUH! Vela is definitely better than Adu. Just compare the leagues they both played in. Adu U.S Portugal and now will be in France. Vela Mexico Spain and now in Premier league. Absolutely no comparing the two.
