    Georges Mwaura

  • what is this? black men speaking with pride and class? dont see that in the US often

  • @willythewildwino Africans are totally different to African Americans... in fact Africans hate African Americans!

  • @soundbeans I am African and I don't hate them, why should I?

you don't speak for all Africans.

  • all the best mundu wa hAuse! morale!

  • Spot on James! You are on the right track, I know there are many Kenyan Matatu drivers out there who have stories to tell, it's always good to hear the other side of the story. I also worked as a tout after graduating and it was an eye opener for me to learn what goes on in this Matatu industry. Thanks Aljazeera for highlighting this story.

  • Man, these Africans speak perfect English! Here in the US, ebonics reigns supreme

  • Great vid I like how they say the truth and such. I hope James and the rest of the people in the road get good things because there people too like you in me. From the U.S =]

  • I hope James can succeed within his writing career.

I was surprised to hear about the matatu drivers. I know it is a similar job for those in the United States. Cab drivers. People treat them terribly, and they get robbed and have all sorts of crimes committed against them. Yet as a society, we need people like this. Why do we treat them in such a despicable manner?

  • James I wish you all the best! Thank you AlJazeeraEnglish for bring me into a world I knew nothing about! I will start reading James blog wambururu.wordpress

  • matatu drivers have a reputation for partying hard

  • good luck mundu wa nyumba

  • Amazing... And i thought they were all thieves wen i was in kenya. Everyone must earn an honest living.

  • This man can give a perspective that those of us who have never lived his experience may never hear. Maybe there should be a follow up piece done.

  • This is an extremely good case study.

    Thank you al jazeera
