  • I really don't know if this music is played in B major or in B flat major. The most of this music performances are in B flat, but there's one in B. And I prefer it in B.

  • Great interpretation, great composing, of course...I like this cantabile, when the mind can follow

  • really? tempo should be that slow or is it the pianist interpretation of the song

  • @JazzChrissPL

Any song should be played just as the particular musician likes to play it. Slow, fast or whatever.

  • @JazzChrissPL Yep, remember these were originally written to be danced to. The sheet music for every single Joplin rag clearly states 'slow', 'not fast' or the like.

Personal opinion: I find that increasing rag tempo is always at cost of expression / always makes it more mechanical. Increased tempo is not worth losing the ability to adjust the dynamics of each hand seperately.

  • what a pianist !

palm leaf rag is my favourite rag.

    this interpretation is very nice.

tempo is accurate and personnal touch funny. thank you.

  • @micke0100 but what about "swipsey cake walk"?

  • Palm Leaf Rag -- Scott Joplin, of course!

  • Dear Ron,

Well shucks! I had heard it several times , but I just couldn't come up with the title.

    You are a good man.
