It also depends on what their style of play is. I've seen Daigo getting perfected by Momochi using Ryu. And the outcome is always different. But yeah, skill is very important. :P

exactly... it's funny how intently everyone seems to be looking for a handshake. The match wasn't even close, so Daigo wasn't even thinking about a handshake, and neither was his opponent.

A handshake from Daigo MEANS something.

In events of fairplay and games, handshakes are signs of sportsmanship. You don't have to earn them. Unless you're harbouring a grudge on someone or have some sort of competitive feud, I think it's a gesture of politeness to offer your handshake, regardless of whether it was a whooping or not.

No. If you pause at 1:28 Daigo looks over at the guy to see if he wants to shake hands and the guy doesnt respond. Its not polite for the winner to initiate the handshake so thats why Daigo doesnt offer. The same thing happened at Evo against Justin Wong. He waits for Justin to offer the handshake and accepts.
