I was recently diagnosed with AIDS and I have been sort of fascinated with the "denialist movement" (people that believe HIV/AIDS isn't real and that people who accept that they have it are brainwashed zombies). If there's anyone who can have a sane, rational conversation about it, please contact me.
What a great video. This is all I've been thinking about "that day". I'm going to be tested this week, maybe tommorow. All I can think about is, although I'm sort-of prepared to receive the news that I'm positive, Im not sure how I will react or how I should react. As you said, this will be a day that I never forget ....
@ninjask8ter: This is Eric. I'm glad you liked Cory's message. Good job on getting tested. If your result is HIV+, don't panic, just follow your doctor's instructions and consider this something you will need to manage going forward. Lots of people live long, happy, meaningful, and even healthy lives even though they have a chronic infection of one kind or another. You can too. Good luck & best wishes!
i live all alone in canada and i become hiv+ 3 years ago.. i started to fucus inside not outside. in silence i was able to shot down my mind by meditation and in my amazment something behind my mind got up.then , i could feel different see different.i am happy to live just like the way i live .. i really like your video and i feel so much similarity .. we kinda look like as well ;)
cory, thank you for all that you are doing and what you have done! first off thanks for the video, it was inspiring to me, i recently found out that i am hiv positive, and i was beside my self when i found out at a free teseting center, thanks for your encouraging video ,i have since gone back to church and re-newed my faith !
im happy that you have such a positive outlook cory.but im sad that youve turned your back on your sexuality because your faith convinced you that its wrong.perhaps you are scared of dying as a gay man because you think that you will go to hell.there is no cure for the virus just like there is no cure for one's sexuality.hope that you make peace with who you are one day
I'm sure that all gay people do have to deal with their differing sexuality: I understand your reactions about desiring a 'normal' marriage after your experiences in the gay world. However, I think it's a psychological reaction. I don't think it would work, as a gay person, however. There's too many testimonies of suppressed gay males who chose to marry first, and it isn't the answer.
Cory is a nice guy and he's well spoken. However, he is brainwashed by the religious zealots. He has no need to apologize for being gay, which he seems to be doing in this video. He was born gay and also will be. He's in denial saying that he could marry a woman !!! He got HIV, not because he's gay or lived as a gay man, but simply because he engaged in risky sexual behaviour, which he himself admitted. His being gay has nothing to do with his dad. He was simply born gay and should accept it.
Good video and you are very open. I just want to say that it shouldn't take HIV or another wake up to bring christ in your life. Christ should be there before things happen. Im not overly religious. Im just saying. If this is a coping mechanism for you then go with it. I did care about my body, i got hiv from oral sex thinking it was safe, asked the guy 3 times and he lied to me telling me he was married, curious, he was the 2nd guy i ever was with. People will lie, plz be careful all.
@etoilespluie: The fact that you have no sympathy says much about you and nothing about Cory. Develop some humane compassion for others who have an incurable disease.
I think he hit the nail on the head - alot of people take risks because they have allready been going through rough times. It's sad that HIV exists and hits people when they are down.
You seem to have a great personality, really like you:) Good luck with everything.. i hope you would find that special woman.. who you cant live without, cause you deserve it
Cory, Today I just got some devastating news; the news that I am HIV positive, and the really bad thing about it is that I am only 19 yrs old. A lot of things are going through my brain. I've already told two of my friends that I am carrying the disease. My mother, two sisters, and father who lives thousands of miles away all have yet to know that I am carrying the virus. After watching this video, I am a little relieved, but it's not enough. I need to seek more answers. But it is my fault....
Hello.. i dont know who you are, i would like to know you if you dont mind. Im really sorry to hear about your disease, but this is not the end. Carrying HIV´doesnt mean you have AIDS there are people whoe always carry the HIV but never get Aids, which means they can infect others only.
Of course it is your fault, but everybody makes mistakes thrrough out their lives, we are human beings and we are not perfect.
Would love to heare from you, byes,, and remember not to give up, no matter what;)
Don't blame yourself for having this disease! You may have made poor choices or had moments of bad judgment, but so does everyone. Beating yourself up about it will just make things worse for you in the long run. Hope you're coming to terms with it and building up a support network of people you can trust. Take care.
Cory, I really am relieved to watch your video. I'm struggling with the same attractions and it's a daily battle. I, like you, have not found fulfillment in the homosexual world. It's like two guys trying to fill the same void and it can't be done that way. I know we will know all the answers one day with our Heavenly Father. I truly believe we are spiritually progressing in ways we wouldn't have without this trial. Good luck to you my friend.
Cory, You are wrong - you do deserve love and compassion. All victims of AIDS are innocent. I'm so happy that you are blessed with such a great family. Good Luck!
god bless you!i like your attitude, you will go far with your life.you are you that's what make you special and who you are to day.your soul is already bless
The truth you speak is as powerful as the sun. As is the love and gentle nature that you show. I agree with the others, you have done a wonderful thing in posting this. I'm sure you have made a difference to someones life because of this. All my love and support all the way from Oz.
man ur so sayin the truth . . I'm a producer/Rapper/Father And I got negative and I got one more test 2 go 2 another negative and I'm done hopefully and if not trust me I know whats really important and thats ma family :) thnx 4 da video. . .
God bless you Cory, you are blessed to have a loving circle of friends and family. I am a gay man who has lived with HIV for over 23 years. Unlike you every one of my friends left, wanred others to stay away, etc, but Boston (where I live) has always been known as a mean spiritied city.
I've watched your video a number of times, it is heart warming to hear your words. Maybe the good Lord keep you healthy and strong
idiot shut the fuck up dont talk about god in vein u idiot or in anger god didn't say go fuck a man thats why god made woman the opposite of men u fagg get da fuck out here or just listen and learn and shut the fuck up
Thanks for your ownesty, My Nephew found out he was HIV when he was only 17. He was infected by a Female and It's hard for me to be around him ONLY becuz he's eye's are so so sad...GOD BLESS
Anyone ever told you that you look like kirk Cameron? Awesome gift of communicaton you have man. My best friend is also HIV+. I was there when he ot the news; it's been 4yrs. God Bless you man.
actually it IS POSSIBLE. there is no one who is created to be gay. it's a lifestyle and a decision. however subconscious it may be. and he came to know Christ and was freed of that lifestyle.
I want to tell you that I do not like homosexuals because to be frank, god created man and woman with the "pieces fitting." Deviating leads to problems. With that being said, I truly feel bad for you and wish you only the best of health. Your video was inspiring and I really hope you are cured. I really hope people who are engaged in risky behavior see this video. It is very interesting that even though you lived as a homosexual, you now want to marry a woman and live a normal life.
Homosexuality is genetic...predetermined at birth...roughly ten percent of the population is homosexual...roughly the same ratio for every species in the animal kingdom...coincidence? I think not...
You are a good man cory, and I am sure Jezus will Protect you untill the end, You will definately have a place in HIS paradise, You inspire a lot of people, You are here for a Reason of GOD. I hope a lot of People see your videos and get educated on this issue. God Bless You
Hi i am happy that you are seing the good things in life, just want to say that the HIV is not only for people "who don't care about their life", for myself i wanted to live and i did care but someone took advantage of my young age and my ignorance, i was only 16 yrs old and the person who transmit HIV to me in purpose was 35 yrs old. Keep living positivly man! Jean-Pierre
I absolutely admire your strength and courage through this battle of yours- but I don't understand why you can't find fulfillment in a homosexual relationship ( a real committed one ) instead of trying to change something that I believe you can't change. It's almost as if they church has talked to into believing that you're going to go to hell because of your sexuality. Aside from that- praise God for your testimony.
Having Christ in my life, as a man with HIV, has truly changed my life! When I found out I was HIV, I felt hopeless and lost, but going to Christ with uncertainty-changed my life. I decided to give God my past, present and future-that is when my life Changed completely! AMEN! Now I have complete hope-because of the salvation given to me! This body will pass but the soul will carry on! Great Testimony, Cory!
I just got tested a week ago. I'm waiting for the results. I've never been so scared in my entire life. sleep is my only escape. How can you be so strong. All I think about is suicide, constintly. Its not like I want to, but I wouldn't want to live either. I couldn't do it. I can't live like that. Thats not life. I will be the happiest person in the world if I find out I'm negative. I'm only 20.
Such a great person and you do give purpose to life, anyone who hears the postitive outlook you bring. I'm getting tested soon and whenever that time comes I get all nervous and think of the worst but know that even in the worst times there are people like you who can make life meaningful. Continue your good work! Thanks.
Great video! I am HIV poz and have problems with my pancreas! I will not be here in another 5 years due to the fact the medicine is not working for me.
may god bless you, you're a living testimony and many people need to hear this.god loves us no matter what mistakes we made in life and it takes a man of god to make this video, you're such an inspiration man.may god bless you in life! GOD IS BIGGER THAN hiv! you noticed i put hiv in small letters! GOD IS GOOD! BLESS YOU!
I have a very similar story to yours, Cory. I recently found out that I was HIV+ and it was only in the weeks leading up to getting the test results back that I found my way back to God, after living a very ignorant and selfish lifestyle for almost 10 years. That made it so much easier to deal with the bad news.
It would be great to know more about the organisation He Intends Victory.
"Learn to laugh" - there is nothing more healthy, good, and intelligent than learning the most basic... Thank you again for that hope and that caring which envelops you!
Cory, thank you for the peace and warmth that colours your life. It lights up your whole being - and also, I am sure, the lives of those around you.
I wish you all the best and hope your heart will draw you towards that which holds in store both great freedom and great happiness. Spiritually, sensually, sexually, intellectually, etc... Life has no real limits when you are twinkle-eyed, communicative, and friendly with it. Beautiful really, in a sense life has its own life! (continued)
Sometimes god uses our health to get our attention. I think he has yours for sure. Risky behavior is definately the cause of it. I'm very careful. I'm not even in the high risk category. I'm straight and I dont do drugs. I think this disease is very serious just like cancer. Anything you can do to prevent such a disease, you should do it. I quit smoking recently because I wanted to change.
Not sure. You could try reaching him through the HeIntendsVictory dot com web site. I met him through that organization. They have a contact phone # listed on their web site at the bottom of the page. Whether or not you can reach him in particular, I'm sure they'll be happy to talk to you about your concerns; I believe that's part of their service. Also see the CDC-INFO number listed on the CDC web site which is another phone counseling resource.
From AIDStruth: A meta-analysis of 54 ARV clinical trials showed that using one ARV reduced progression to AIDS or death by 30% compared to a placebo, using two ARVs reduced progression by an additional 40% vs. one ARV, and using three ARVS reduced progression by an additional 40% vs. two ARVs. [Jordan et al, "Systematic review and meta-analysis of evidence for increasing numbers of drugs in antiretroviral combination therapy." BMJ 2002;324:757.]
Cory, your testimony is such a blessing. It is a wonderful example of God's Romans 8:28 promise. I'm so thankful for your faith and hope in Christ, who is the ultimate Healer. I hope to meet you in Heaven :D.
We really need some positive perspective rather than scary attitudes about being infected. Please, keep doing it, keep talking about positive things in your life. THANK YOU FOR DOING IT.
It was something quite refreshing and nice to hear your story and your mom's participation as well! I must admit I laughed when you described the moment in which your counselor broke down, quite ironically, when she was supposed to give you strength! Hey! keep it up! and yeah, Hope and Faith are strong virtues which I believe will get you through this!
Very Informative, but sounds like you are really confused about your sexuality. Getting HIV doesn't mean you must turn straight all of a sudden. good luck...
respect dude u help alot aids ppl with this video. greatings from berlin. u never die fight this fucking virus, remember the day will come someones find a medical to destroy this virus.
Me once again! I forgot to say to you one thing...You are the one I dreamt in my life ... but I know this is impossible to happen so I still will be dreaming...
i am living in Turkey and people still think that this disease is far away from our country due to silly statistics which claims that there is only 2000 ill people.. but as you can imagine it should be more than this..
i wonder about your healt. How do you feel emotionaly and physically after two years.. ? I have to comment that your movie help to answer this question why did i make a unprotected sex?. as you already told i was not caring my life at those times.. now i am working as a volunteer to increase awareness on aids..
dear sir, i am PhD student in Biology department. i know that science is improving so fast. after genome project it becomes faster. i am sorry for your situation. i know how you feel how you are sorry about what had happened. But as far as i see, you are a very positive man. the more you feel better the better you become.. if you need i friend to talk about everything everyfeeling just know that in addition to all your nice friends you have a new one.. take care man.
you knew that the personwho infected you was carrying the virus but you still went ahead and had unsafe sex with them anyway??

But if u really become a hetro....
I suspect is it ever possible..
will u really be happy??

Wow! Nice to know I'm not alone.

Great Job Cory,
We really need some positive perspective rather than scary attitudes about being infected. Please, keep doing it, keep talking about positive things in your life. THANK YOU FOR DOING IT.

Greetings Mr. Cory!
Take care!

Very Informative, but sounds like you are really confused about your sexuality. Getting HIV doesn't mean you must turn straight all of a sudden. good luck...
