this version is the best everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! without all of the flashing lights.. without all this and that is just her and piano. It is simple and so beautiful.
i wish she would sing with this same attitude.... it 's wonderful., and you can tell it's straight from the depths of her... that we all love so much. I've heard many versions of this song, and if she would close her eyes and sit down and listen to all of them.... she would know what we all hear. It's almost blinding emotion in her tune and voice. This is what are all hungrying for and love. Thank you Tori.. we love you
She obviously has changed this version over the years, depending on what she's experiencing in life. I prefer this one over all. As far as the Joe Jackson cover, I agree with tender. He had to give her permission, and personally, I think she did an excellent over. I also prefer Elvis Costello over early Joe Jackson.

She stole a song from Joe Jackson (2 grammies and very well regarded before haters defend)....who JJ even said Tori messed up his original meanings of Real Men...anyways found this on a sugar live search...Meaning Bob Mould's band Sugar
Well maybe Joe Jackson should have thought about that before he gave her permission to cover it.
Also, the whole point of the album she covered Real men on was to sing songs by males and interpret them as females. She wasn't going for the original meaning she was purposefully making it her own.
This is the best version I've heard. I love the line: "but sugar, HE brings me sugar." Seems so appreciative! I think this is a tribute to gentlemen.
@TuliTheUnruly Actually, no. On the live version of this (B-side of something) she tells the story of how she dated a guy for 9 months and he could never remember how many sugars she took in her tea, so it's about an UNappreciative guy.
