  • This great song reached #39 in 1975. Kind of has the sound of Seals & Crofts.

  • Music of this composition and quality we will perhaps never have again. We have become "Jungle People". Americans are "de-evoluting".

  • you are absolutly right

  • Great Great Art

  • Breakaway is one of Art's finest albums in my opinion... he's such a talented vocalist and musician.. this album brings back memories of university, when I would listen to it constantly, as well as Scissors Cut. Beautiful and timless...........

  • Art Garfunkel forever is like a good wine

  • Ohhhhhh~it reminds me of my X. : (

  • I love this song to!! Reminds me of late high school!! :) Good memories!!

  • A great version, but Gallagher and Lyle wrote it. And theirs is less produced and I prefer it.

What a voice AG has though. Remarkable.

  • I used to love this song as a child and I still do, this and many of the other songs he sings.

  • Well, guys: if you reckon this is good, then check out the original version by Gallagher and Lyle ..... and prepare to be totally blown away.

  • thanks man, just heard the original version, beautiful!!!

  • This is the original (1975). Gallagher & Lyle version was recorded a year later.

  • Didn't Gallagher & Lyle write this?

  • I must admit. I love both versions; I prefer the vocals of Garfunkel's version, but prefer the music of Gallagher and Lyle's version.

Thanks Krzysczynksi (damn, that's a lot of consonants) for mentioning the other version. And kudos to you, Supermick, for the correction.

    Cheers, mates.

  • However...Gallagher and Lyle are the writers of the song, to add.

  • True Gallaghar and Lyle were the writers and too sing it first

  • Well, I checked it out and I still prefer this version. G & L version sounded thin and reedy to me, and the harmonies in Art's version are just richer. However, I didn't even know G & L had recorded this song.....thanks for the referral.

  • WOW, it had been so long since I had last listened to this great song. Flashbacks from the late 70's!!

  • This is a fantastic album, my uncle had the LP and I used to fall asleep to it. Real gems throughout it.

  • This is my fave Art Garfunkal tune. Very nice.

  • One of my all time fave Art Garfunkel albums.

  • This album is so awesome. Why are there so few songs from it? Where is "99 Miles to LA" That is one of the BEST love songs ever.

  • Thsi song epitomizes a relationship I was in in 1975.

  • Thanks for posting this. My opinion is that this is his best song.

  • Thanks for adding this , great song and a good album

  • thanks for posting this great song, WarpedBanana. I remember listening to this, and art garfunkel's other albums. five stars!
