  • Some excellent quotes by Pharoahe Monch in that book he's in: "Writing a song is like writing a screenplay - you can go back as a screenwriter and rewrite scenes and leave more to the imagination, leave more hidden clues for people to find."

They really put in work for that book, it's the ''How-To-Rap" one... got all the best guys contributing, Styles P, Little Brother, Tribe, Pharcyde, Black Moon, Smif N Wessun - brilliant read.

  • @Wjc15824 So sick of hearing about that book...Do you guys get paid for promoting it out the ass?

  • @SouLSyLo Ahh.... I didn't know Phonte could sing like that. Must be him on the hooks for Little Brother.

  • keep those glasses on brotha

  • The track is a response to the loss of connection we once had. Our Elders tried to instruct us to remind each other that we are a people apart, different, but together. We missed the last part. We fell apart, now things fall apart. Pharoahe is quite often ahead of his time, right smak in the middle of time, and pushing you ahead in time. With this one, he's pushin'. Pharoahe Monch, a MASTER in the Art form.

  • this song makes me smile yo

  • THUMBS IF U WANNA SEE THE PHAROAHE MONCH x STYLES P COLLABO ALBUM HAPPEN ND COME OUT!

  • It almost brought tears to my eyes.. Why can't we all live like brothers like we should

  • What the fuck is wrong with society these days. Real, authentic, passionate music like this just doesn't get played anymore. It's so sad. The music most of us listen to on the radio, BET, MTV and VH1 is a pure reflection of our society.

  • ADD ME TO FACEBOOK CALIMAP25@YAHOO.COM OR OOVOO ME MARKELL007

  • yo, the most important thing about this video is the MESSAGE....stand up people

  • I just randomly clicked this video-this is proof that Hip Hop isn't dead, it's just not played enough in the mainstream

  • amaazing track

  • Someone explain to me how the fuck wayne sold a million in his first week, but pharoahe can't sell at least 50k. I know dudes are tired of wayne being bought up, but the carter 4 is garbage. I'm not hating, I heard the album and it really sucks. WAR is a modern hiphop classic with OBFCL 2, fishscale, godson, and blueprint. This album is really the shit on the real. Niggas claimed that real rap no longer exist, but it is literally right there in niggas faces.

  • @blackplaque617 You know what Music Industry is ?

They pay, they do, they show what sells the most.

But I don't gve a fcuk about POP STARTS. :)

  • @Masshuu4400 its about who wants to be an illuminati pupppet to be honest

  • Comment removed

  • @blackplaque617 do you know what it all boils down to the fact that whit kids all over the world will buy Waynes album. hence why it seems that everyone is selling out to become commercial. Not for the love of music but for the love of money.

The punks that claim real rap no longer exists are the ones who listen to radio all day every day, full well knowing they aren't gonna hear this song on it.

i must say, as black people we aren't buying our peoples music , we download. and i am guilty. :-(

  • @blackplaque617

simplest answer for that is great promotion.wayne has had great promotion throughout his career so the shit sells itself now pretty much on top of the fact that it was highly anticipated.although w.a.r was highly anticipated also it lacked that type of promotion. why? not because the quality of the album or thinking ppl wouldnt listen but since its an indie label they simply dont have the money to promote as well as ym.that being said if pm wound up signing with diddy way back

  • @blackplaque617

he would most likely have to compromise his not necessarily his quality but his sound.there are plenty mainstream rappers with high quality music but have still compromise the creative direction of their work.I think the problem comes into play when fans worry so much about album sales so much.so what if lil wayne sold a mil in a week everybody talking about it is only making him that much more powerful.unintentional promotion. REAL RAP RAW

  • @blackplaque617

i hate the term "real hip hop" but its not necessarily that people wont listen to it.its just that people dont know about it if that makes sense

  • @blackplaque617 Modern classic? Neeeeeegro pleeeeeease!

  • @blackplaque617 nothing to add on that comment! Fucking sad and true!

  • @blackplaque617 Please don't hate on Lil Wayne. I heard the album to, the hype for it is what let us down. Only a couple songs caught my attention.

But Wayne worked hard to get where he is now. He started off the same way this guy did, with the little amount of views. He didn't just jump in the rap game and pop out selling 1mil per week per album, no, he worked and made a name for this shit. He has some great albums and mixtapes, such as Carter II and Da Drought 3.

  • @blackplaque617 Personally, I'd much rather have 50,000 real fans than 1,000,000 people who listen to the singles and let the album die away in a month.

  • @blackplaque617 I have a theory, Wayne & these corn ball niggas aren't really selling that many albums. I'm seriously starting to think the mainstream record companies are just cutting these wack artists a check and telling them they sold all these albums. It just doesn't add up, I remember back in the day when an artist sold a lot of albums, YOU COULD SEE IT cause everyone you knew had that album. I dont know anyone who has lil waynes album, nor CD or Itunes on their computer. . . .do you?

  • @ChuloBadGuy that is a pretty damn good theory...

  • @blackplaque617 Amen. A-fucking-men.

  • @blackplaque617 the problem is "they" have been brain washed since the cash money days to love that trash. i mean while most of us were listening to internal affairs peeps were backin that ass up. it's super sad dude.

  • @blackplaque617 well it is simple, it is marketing. Marketing is everything.

  • @blackplaque617 I agree and disagree. I think the Carter IV is a GREAT album and it's defintiely the best one of the 4. The problem is their is no balance. Even if Pharoahe sold what Wayne sold, it would be all one way. It would be all Pharoah and no Wayne. And you can't have that either. You might not like it but Wayne puts out some good stuff and I think they both need to be there. The question to be asked is, why didn't both of them sell a million records the first week.

  • cont'd....I just don't get how people listen to this and dont feel it. I know not everyone can like everything but you mean out of all those tracks you don't like none of Pharoahe? Its mind boggling.

  • @blackplaque617 illuminati

  • @blackplaque617 Hip hop ain't dead :) Only those who said it are to be more likely closed minded people who don't follow up on the news from the Underground MC's . No further comments.

  • @blackplaque617 Most of duckown artist are hot Black Robs shit hot as hell and they dont have the sales its all about payola pay for play its a money thing if you got the funds to pay the djs off and mtv you get the record sales its all corrupt thats why we need to support duckown and other indepenent labels if you want to continue to hear good hip hop

  • GIVE ME FIVE BRUH GIVE ME FIVE!!

  • yo this song gives me chills pure hip hop at its finest Phonte killed the hook

  • this hot 4 sure comeback muziq

  • This video is life changing, to me it speaks on 2 spectrums of life, like hip hop in a sense. One is how hip hop is supposed to be real, delicate, lyrical etc hip hop with color. The other is the pop, mainstream, bull crap music society portrays 9the black and white spectrum. Well thats just to me.

  • MADNESS keeps attract the black men.......lets do better

  • Pure hip hop

  • My guy is right about it not getting into rotation. It won't. Yes, the industry is to blame as they push pop culture & nothing else. The one thing that everyone seems to miss is that it's Rap music in rotation on the radio & videos... HipHop culture is still alive & there is some dope stuff out there if you're prepared to spend a little more time looking.

Mass consumption drives the market... all we can do is keep finding these jewels & sharing them with as much people as we can.

    stay blessed

  • LEGENDARY

  • Hiphop forever

  • This music is too deep and thought provoking it will never be in rotation on commercial radio. Pop culture controls the youth.

  • Masterpiece

  • The Fact its Hip Hop went Mainstream now that money involved its not about Good Music its about hit records and platinum albums. That why you see the same video with the girls and bling bling and shit. But you will NEVER here people like immortal Technique and Styles P, Pharoahe Monch on the radio. to change Hip Hop you have to change the mainstream and its stars by not listening to the radio. When need to change Hip Hop back to Good Music and its starts by supporting MC's like Pharoahe Monch.

  • @ZpHiX2 I get that, but there's a difference between that and the fact this type of hip hop (the issue is really bigger than hip hop) is not on the radio. It isn't because the major labels and radio stations don't want to disrespect Pharoahe. It is already not promoted/sponsored by the mass media INTENTIONALLY. How many videos have been banned from BET for literally being too intelligent for their audience? I don't support purposefully dumbing down our peers, I don't know why s3kshuun8 does.

  • yeeeboy

  • LOX FOR LIFE

    NEVRSTOPBANGIN
