I believe that the idea behind it was good, and the begginning when the guy was preaching, I really truely FELT that mans conviction and awakening of the people through your dance in that portion. Remember that what you dance is magnifying (as in making bigger, not praising) the messege of the singer/teller. You can tell when someone is singing/dancing/playing an instrument for God and for him alone, or whether or not it is to just look cool. I'm no one to judge, but God Bless.
in my opinion some of these movements are sexist. that's not okay. and when you did this because of the joy of the lord, it's okay - apart from the sexist moves. but if you did this for showing what you are able to do - I don't think that god likes it.

I prefer to not put God in a box. The Bible says He looks at the heart, and if their hearts were in adoration and worship to their Savior(who created all forms of dance, by the way...not just lyrical or inspirational), then that's all He cares about. You and I do not have the right to judge the way others worship. Now, as to the actual dance quality itself-too many of the moves were repeated. It looked sloppy, and the quality wasn't what it should have been, quite honestly.
I thought this was an awesome hip hop dance ministry. You should never be ashamed of moving for God, your actions speak much louder than your words and these ladies did exactly that. It didn't have to be perfect, it had to be for God and I feel they did that. Good job ladies!

In this case however, I agree with you in the fact that those judging these dancers are not correct in that this style of dancing is a sin. If they are dancing for God, there is no problem here.

Be wary, because God will judge you how you judge others. That IS biblical as is everything permissible but not everything beneficial. I have a feeling God is happy to see hip hop dancing during his services. It does say in his word to dance and sing and praise him in every way. I don't think this is an embarressment to christianity at all, the dancers are just expressing and praising God in a way that is appealing to the youth. "Making more disciples for his Kingdom."
pardon my english, it is not my first language, but if you would like to use the example of David dancing before the opening of the temple, he was dancing outside, and i am sure his dancing was not anything like this. and there will not be a single reference to anyone dancing in the temple, i will bet on that. there are only reference to humbleness, and i am sorry to say this, but only shows the opposite. how well do you know the Bible just out of curiosity?
It's cool what you've just said. No worries about the English, its not my first language neither. can't say I know everything about the Bible because to be honest, although I say I'm christian, I am no expert on the Lord's word. I can tell you though, that many churches here in NZ, dance hip hop during praise and worship, that's how the youth express their love for God. I understand how strange it may seem, but I guess its the best way our youth are able to praise the Lord with all his glory.
@kostyathegenius Hello again, I believe that David's wifes issue was that he was dancing "with no shame" for doing it with the common folk so to speak. He was dancing with all disregard to who was watching, and it was for the Lord, it didn't matter who was around even if he was the king. She said he was being rediculous, and God in return made her sterile. I think the messege of David's dance is to rejoice in the Lord with your eyes/heart only for him. God Bless.

@GingerLaurenn Be careful, remember, righteous judgment is not a sin, in fact, when you judge someone (remember though, only judge fellow Christians), you are only helping them to become a better Christian. In this case however, I agree with you in the fact that those judging these dancers are not correct in that this style of dancing is a sin. If they are dancing for God, there is no problem here.

I have a feeling God is happy to see hip hop dancing during his services. It does say in his word to dance and sing and praise him in every way. I don't think this is an embarressment to christianity at all, the dancers are just expressing and praising God in a way that is appealing to the youth. "Making more disciples for his Kingdom."

pardon my english, it is not my first language, but if you would like to use the example of David dancing before the opening of the temple, he was dancing outside, and i am sure his dancing was not anything like this. and there will not be a single reference to anyone dancing in the temple, i will bet on that. there are only reference to humbleness, and i am sorry to say this, but only shows the opposite. how well do you know the Bible just out of curiosity?

It's cool what you've just said. No worries about the English, its not my first language neither. can't say I know everything about the Bible because to be honest, although I say I'm christian, I am no expert on the Lord's word. I can tell you though, that many churches here in NZ, dance hip hop during praise and worship, that's how the youth express their love for God. I understand how strange it may seem, but I guess its the best way our youth are able to praise the Lord with all his glory.

@kostyathegenius Hello again, I believe that David's wifes issue was that he was dancing "with no shame" for doing it with the common folk so to speak. He was dancing with all disregard to who was watching, and it was for the Lord, it didn't matter who was around even if he was the king. She said he was being rediculous, and God in return made her sterile. I think the messege of David's dance is to rejoice in the Lord with your eyes/heart only for him. God Bless.

Good dancing and music in church is to be maintained, but not as an invitation to people- Oh! come and watch the performance..... instead its all about giving god the Best.... Your best.....
