For a first piece for strings, this is quite good. No, really. Just wondering about a couple of things. Why did you let that guy wear a paper hat? It must have been hard for him to see your cues. Also, you must have put a huge amount of effort into this piece. For all that you did to get it ready, you should have recorded it with a better microphone. Even a simple stereo mic plugged into a laptop would have been better than the minicam mic.
Yes, the orchestra made hats in the break, so my principal violist decided to wear his during the recording. He's mind-bogglingly talented so I wasn't too fussed.
I actually have the complete takes, including the final edited mix, so I could have synchronised take 4 with this video. Maybe I'll do that next time.
Thanks very much for your criticism. I've accepted your friend request.
Tommy - what's the chance of you reposting this clip as your edited audio mix, plus score samples or other still frames? It really deserves better, and so do you.
The beginning is absolutely breathtaking! Beautiful harmonic progressions! Excellent job!!! Can I hear the other version without the distorted audio?

All that pickiness aside, great work!

This is very nice. I hear some japanese influences with the rising crescendo's. A really good orchestration.

Thank you. Yes, I took that from Joe Hisaishi if I'm being honest :-) I really like that style in Spirited Away.
