  • Simply the BEST!!!

  • Perhaps throwing the guitar around your shoulders was not the best of ideas when you're not using a wireless system!

  • Comment removed

  • @fredsk8x probably about 22 different ones. Haha. (The number of different notes on a normal guitar)

  • Впечетляюще!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Whether or not you like his style, the use of a scaloped Fender with an orchestra or what have you, Malmsteen is pure talent.

  • Probably the most beautiful album released by Malmsteen, anyway, my preferate one, here he show all his talent playing with a complete orchestra, he is incorporated in the ensemble and there is no bad things at all, everything is harmony, he is definitively the best!

  • i love yngwie's stuff...but playing with an orchestra on a strat is like a stripper dancing in church... its gonna get your attention and stand out. i would be even more impressed if he grabbed one of those violas or something and played it.

  • Horrible way to fuck up Albinoni's Adagio.

  • Yngwie from 5:22 to 6:24 OWNS ALL!!!

  • It just dawned on me towards the end of this:

the reason Yngwie created this Concerto was for the sheer reason of showing the immensity of his ego and talent, simply because shredding to rock and roll and being all technical with a metal band for a crew is going to drown out his badassery. So, he makes entire parts for each instrument, accents his own skills, AND plays on a Fender.....he has successfully and immediately shown how much ass he kicks. He knows it.

  • i dont see whats so arrogant about him, really. and i've seen many videos of him. they all seem like really enjoying it. :-/

  • just awesome...

  • I bet has to warm up for at least an hour before he does shows

  • @freaknbigpanda No, he just never cools down.

  • 7:44 fail xddd

  • Beautifull... enough said!!

  • Look at 7.00 Heck if he can make a guitar sound like this, imagine what he can do with a toothbrush!

  • 7.00: "Who needs a toothbrush when you can just rock!"

  • When i see him,i think Bach still alive and can play electric guitar XD

  • nevermind it's like a mix of the two put into this one he just opens how he originally opened for Icarus in here

  • Isn't this Icarus Dream Suite? From his first album this is how it goes and the one titled Icarus Dream Suite is Far Beyond the Sun isn't it?

  • @shimitzu01 Icarus Dream Suite is the small prelude he plays before Far Beyond the Sun n_n

  • is the best

sei il migliore sei unico sei il più bravo chitarrista del mondo ti stimo fratello :)

  • It gets to the point where it's just ridiculous... but ridiculously good

  • And who says that Yngwie doesn't have feeling in his playing?!?!?!?

  • Haters do not play guitar more or less, the can only ride a Bicycle, Yngwie Respect!

  • que mosssstro !!!!!

  • Did Yngwie write all these songs by his own?

  • @xXMartinzXx yeah but some parts are taken from classical, the melody between 0:49 and 2:51 are from adagio in e minor i think

  • I watched the entire dvd and it seems the orchestra is often trying to play catch up with yngwie...even to the point that he has to adjust his natural phrasing to keep it cohesive

  • @alphakraker hey you know what year is this concert?/?

  • kitsch

  • He can do better than this.

  • i may not have the technique to read music but still, i dream of a playing opportunity such as he has been given...his work is just amazing.. n im a lover of both metal n classical music

  • This is incredible. Saying that, I love Girls Aloud and Robbie Williams and therefore this is toilet. If only Yngwie could sing...

  • He is so fast at playing the guitar, some shots, the camera man can't even keep up!!!

  • purly.. amazing.. this is breath taking.. i wish i went there..

  • is this the same thing as "Concerto Suite LIVE With the New Japan Philharmonic" because I want this

  • @neanngis, this IS the new japan philharmonic.

  • @rickenboi11 Thanks, I actually just got the album for christmas and I love it so far

  • @neanngis, your welcome

  • THIS IS SO FUCKING AMAZING TO WATCH.

  • amazing

  • Superlative!

  • whats up with the fret board is it extra deeper or more shiney

  • It's a scalloped fretboard. instead of the fretboard being flat, each fret is curved.

  • I like the orchestra's part.

  • "How to kill a concerto by Paganini in 2 minutes" =P

  • u even can't play a simple note, u ugly

    Malmsteen is your master.

  • If you're not a fan, why are you even viewing this video? Why don't you go listen to some "real" music and stop belittling the musical tastes of others? BTW, if writing the part of every instrument for a concerto doesn't make Yngwie a "real" musician, I would love to know what someone would have to do to win your approval.

  • I cannot see this video if i'm not a fan?

And what concerto? To put a orchestra to play together doesn't make you composer of a concerto...

    Study a little more, please.

  • No but composing a concerto does, hahaha.

  • So, where's the concerto? hahaha

You only see a dopped guitar player using the orchestra like a Casio's kids keyboard.

  • Um, he composes the orchestral parts as well, genius. Let me help you:

Concerto: A composition for an orchestra and one or more solo instruments, typically in three movements.

English not your first language or do you just not understand it?

  • I know , genius. But what Malmsteen did here, Richard Clayderman did with Ballade pour Adeline. He composed a orchestral part too. So "Ballade pour Adeline" automaticaly become a piano concerto now?

  • There's a lot of things you don't cited here to define a concerto. That definition you said is superficial a lot. I can show you hundreds of pieces with an solo instrument and an orchestra that aren't concertos.

Usually, a concerto is composed under sonata form in first movement, and the others being contastant to it.

  • It doesn't matter if its "superficial". Its not just one song, it was (at least) an entire album work of music, composed for electric guitar and a full orchestra -- if he wants to call it a concerto I'd say he's plenty talented to make the association.

  • Man, talent is irrelevant in this case, a concerto is a concerto - a form of composing, with rules. Sometimes, you can bend these rules, or sometimes even break'em, but you must know them and use almost full-time.

He could be Mozart himself, but doing this work, could only receive 'concerto' as a label for the disc, not a real concerto - style of composing. So that is, with your logic, every Rhapsody cd is a new symphony.

  • The rules for "what is a concerto" seem pretty simple to me. I know that snobs like yourself don't write dictionaries but the people who do, I would think, go with the generally-accepted definitions for terms.

The album he did was a series of songs composed for solo guitar and orchestra -- its technically a "concerto" whether it suits your exacting standards or not.

  • Hahah ok, so ask that people who write dicitionaries to analysis music... The worst blind is that one who doesn't wanna see.

This album isn't technically a concerto, and never will be. Like all bands of symphonic metal and guitarrists of "neo-classical", it's only wannabe. Just a cluster of mediocre musicians trying to force a place at the same hall as great genius, like Mozart or Beethoven.

Technically, it's only a concerto for who likes Malmsteen, i.e., young guitarrists without musical exp.

  • Riiight, so unless you're Mozart you can't write a concerto? I see, that makes perfect sense.

  • Hahah understand as you wish, if you like to distort what i say, it's your guilt.

But you need to study a lot to compose a concerto... not just playing anything and put a orchestral part...

  • I have no guilt at all. I think you're a sad little person who has nothing better to do but talk trash.

Yngwie Malmsteen is untalented and a bad role model for up and coming musicians? Right. And oh my god, he's NOT Mozart? you don't say. I certainly don't see many other people doing things like this, so it must not be THAT easy.

  • And you may be a sad little person to be Yngwie's fan - listen trash, but talk it gold. =p

When I cited Mozart and Beethoven was only to establish a quality level. But you distorted that... And why don't you see people things like this? Why a orchestra is very expensive. And nobody wants to sponsor this... Just only this.

Why not search for a real concerto? The strings of fire, Steve Vai gave the premiere.

  • if you think he is untalented, try to play this song and make song.proof to us that you are very very talented.

  • @kenhimurabr Im with you. Mozart would laught at this, he'd think, look at that guy running at scales fast. Malmsteen is good, but always the same, there is not much people who plays like him, because they dont want. Malmsteen style gets bored and guitarrist want to be fresh

  • @ushuaia213 Mozart and Malmsteen are the same shit. Real music sounds different. Have you ever heard the name MAHAVISHNU ?

  • @ushuaia213 are you stupid or what? orchestra is same pattern over and over.

Listen to your Mozart there are bunch of repeats. And there is nothing wrong with

repeats because that's how it should be. Listen to any types of your music. There is a chorus that repeats over and over that makes people want to listen to it. Let's say the sound notes are all different then it won't become music. you don't know what you are talking about. there is repeat so human brain can remember it.

  • @ kenhimurabr, id like to see you play this kind of stuff, be it concerto or not. you think your smarter than the musicians and choirmasters in my area, who all say this is great and defo a concerto? wow your thick. i am young, but i have at least 10 years of musical experience, which works into atleast 15,000 hours of practise, which qualifies me as semi-pro pretty much. idiot

  • Cool for you. Tell me when your turnée begins.

  • id like to dee you try first. go on. compose your own piece.

  • Allright. When i finish my first, i'll send you.

  • So, if you'd like to know, there's a chair at every music faculty called "Analysis of Music" and another called "Aesthetic". You should study this before arguing about music.

  • You're a funny guy.

  • @kenhimurabr He actually composed all of the individual instrument's parts for this concerto, which does make him a composer. It seems like you are the one who needs to study.

  • @undeadfilms Ok, sooo hard to do these "individual instrument's parts" you refer... simple plain chords on beat distributed by the strings and winds... sometimes horns and other brasses, how sophisticated!!! Not even Ravel could do this orchestration!

    Ok, continue living this illusion.

  • @kenhimurabr Whether it's hard or not, it's composing. What have you composed? Anything I've heard of? Anything that has packed megadomes? No? Didn't think so. It seems like you're a bitter wannabe who gets his kicks tearing down musicians whose success you envy. If you're so much better than Yngwie post a video of you playing and we can decide for ourselves. I bet you have no talent, which is why you talk so damn much. Put up or shut up.

  • @undeadfilms hahaha your alternate world make me laugh loudly. Stop ad hominem and whe can talk. "Whether it's hard or not, it's composing"... maybe, maybe not. May be a pastiche of cliches, like Yngwie. "Composition" per "composition", i prefer these: v=tJptIRv6rKg and v=gfsgXJQ0ebU. Seem to be more authentic.

  • @kenhimurabr The videos you prefer suck. Just goes to show you have terrible taste. Have fun with your frat-boy rapping and rest-home piano. Oh, and how's that concerto you're working on coming? Finished yet? No?

  • @undeadfilms so now you can perceive how i see Yngwie! He's the Metal's Clayderman! What is a shame for Richard, who is poser but has a solid formation. Only metal retards consider Yngwie something big. Terrible intonation, terrible vibrato, terrible bends, terrible phrasing, a lot of cliches, melodies bad-copied from baroque music... I cannot see nothing good on him. But go on, continue to live on your alternate world - where's metal is the law!

  • @undeadfilms Thank you for asking, my work is doing great! The concerto I putted aside due lack of time - I prefered to spend my time now finishing one symphony, some solo pieces I was commissioned to do, a duo for violin-viola, some electroacoustic pieces and a research in algorithmic music for a master degree I'm trying to write a libretto too, to start an opera. Maybe someday I'll show you something, if you prove to be a good boy. =D

  • @kenhimurabr I don't understand why a musician would make such a hobby of tearing down another musician. I don't care what your musical differences are, it's childish. You are welcome not to like him, but I have to wonder why you spend so much time actively detracting from his work instead of building something of your own. Why all the negativity? Does Yngwie represent a father figure that failed you? Isn't your own work enough to make you happy? Why the trolling on Yngwie youtube vids?

  • @undeadfilms Just because the reaction from blind fans. They always go mad! It's a great activity to de-stress from the day-by-day's work. So, just choose a musician you don't like and keep trolling! Promises of great fun at the Internet.

  • ESE TEMA RECOJE UNAS FRASES DEL CANON DE PACHELBEL.. es el canon

  • he isnt the fastest.

  • the who is

  • then

  • i can play that with my eyes shut and a dog biting my ankles..hahahahaha..i wish

  • His arrogance and ignorance of classical music is infuriating.

  • stupid comentary, and no it doens't matter if he said this bs 4 months ago.

  • and yours is better?

  • Who's more arrogant and ignorant, the fool who writes a full concerto and is good enough to get major Philharmonic Orchestras to play it with him, or the fool who disrespects him on youtube? Let me know when your first album comes out, then we can compare you to Yngwie. Until then, you're just another hater on youtube venting your bitterness at those who do what you can only dream.

  • Hahah so you want to compare my compositions with Yngwie's?

So, you need to be a great musical analist, because music isn't a race or competition.

Someday i'll send you a piece of mine. ;P

Stay now with John Cage to enjoy: /watch?v=BM9BBOmznKQ

  • BURN

  • that's pretty incredible. totally original. i like it! sometimes i think he messes around with the pitch too much, though. but this is one of the coolest and most original things i have pretty much ever heard. yngwie knows his shit. i am now a fan.

  • es lo mejor de yngwie el concerto suite es lo mejor de la musica y que les valga a aquellos que lo critican por son unos envidiosos yngwie es un genio
