I was curious to see what teams other people tried to use. I just assumed that the Giants with L.T. would be the obvious choice, but obviously that is open for debate. I'll definitely try a run with the raiders in the near future.
I actually rotate between the Giants, Raiders, and several other teams. If the computer calls the right plays, you can succeed with anyone with a good overall defense.
The Giant's defense is good, but it lacks a couple of star players in all the right positions to force fumbles (their nose tackle is rather weak, for one). LT can't do every "fumble play" by himself!
Still, no team is perfect, so mix it up and have some fun!
@rdrunner0077 You ever use the Bears - Neal Anderson/Mike Singletary combo... or the Bills Thurman Thomas/Bruce Smith combo? I usually rotate those 2 + Raiders. I don't know if you know the answer to this or not, but when you do a world record for a video game like this how do you send it in or do you have it actually witnessed? And are you allowed to use the Pro-Bowl teams for the world record? Also are all the players condition set to default? That makes a big diff.
@wiparker824 I've tried both of those teams. They both have really strong defenses, sometimes too strong. The computer calls a flea flicker and I'm expecting a fumble, but sometimes the defense will tackle the running back too early! :) ... World records are set by mailing videotapes to Twin Galaxies. Look on their web site for more info about who and where to send tapes. Finally, default player conditions, no pro bowl teams. Hope that helps!
Wow, I cannot believe Twin Galaxies would allow the altering of the opponent's playbook.
Takes a great deal of the legitimacy out of scores obtained this way.
