  • One more thing about the pilot figure. If a "pilot" in real life has both hands on the yoke, you can bet it's someone who has never flown a plane before. The right hand is used to control the throttle (and your hand never leaves the throttle during takeoff and climb), the mixture adjustment or the propellet pitch. Seldom if ever does a pilot have both hands on the yoke, except maybe in an extreme or an unusual situation when brute force might be required.

  • @airste172 Hey take care and thanks for your input,,Tim

  • Is that pilot figure supposed to be of a 5 year old kid?

If you're sitting in a real 182, the top of your head will be about 2 inches below the top skin of the fuselage/wing and your eyes would be slightly above the top of the side windows, making it necessary to bend your head down a bit to get a clear horizontal view out the window.

Have you ever seen a real live 182 in front of you in person or is your entire exposure to aircraft in the form of RC models?

  • @airste172 Thanks for commenting and your info,,Tim

  • @Hamradioismyhobby Thanks for commenting cool.. Tim

  • Tinker you are one professional builder........on my best day I couldn't get things to look that good........got a bunch of hours in the real 182 and they are a sweet machine........not a mean piece of metal anywhere........

  • @Vulcancruiser Wow! hey thanks man for you support and kind words awesome and yes I would have to agree with you on the real on..Tim

  • @bluefear24 I work in Aviation, thanks for your kind words and comment. I like the JR 9503 and 12X both great transmitters, but the new Futaba 18 channel with Telemetry is awesome..Tim

  • Have you used this throttle/choke servo set up on other planes? I had considered this set up on my Tigermoth but worried about the heat, oil and vibrations causing servo failure. It's so much easier to route a wire to the receiver then a push rod to a servo in the cabin.

  • @tynpaj Yes I have seen it. Just make sure you use a quality servo and you will be fine.. I would agree about the wire routing. Thank you for your comment..Tim

  • thanks tim that is a sweet cessna 182

  • Nice

  • @jmmurdy Thank-you for the cool comment..Tim

  • It's huge. So nicely built too ........

Wouldn't it be really good if there was an "RC Park" style of development some where. Kind of like - A small miniature airport for model planes and helicopters next to a lake where there would be RC seaplanes and boats and sailing boats and on the other side there could be a racing track with dunes and hills for RC cars and trucks.

That would be the worlds ultimate RC Park. ??

Would be nice to have the money and build a park like that ........ :-)

  • @MrHelidude Great comment and I would have to agree wish I could build one, would do it if I could thanks for this comment..Tim

  • Awesome looking plane... Again... :)

  • @Farmhand2k Thanks Sweet.. Tim

  • Very well built and clean Tinkerman, Well before Boeing I worked at Cessna for almost 10 years and this is an excellent example of a true scale RC. Its really cool seeing the real thing all the time then seeing a model such as this where certain features stood out that reminded me of working there. From now on though all scale Cessna's should have a made in Mexico sticker on them since thats where 80% of the plane are made now. I would feel safer riding on your model. lol

  • @vizzuleyes Thank you for your cool comment sweet, glad you enjoyed ..Take care ..Tim

  • @vizzuleyes Mexico?!!! Man, is anying made in the US anymore? Years ago I learned to fly in a Cessna 150..It hurts to hear that they are now made out of the country...

  • @PatBALEX Yep we watched as section after section got shut down and sent to Chiwahua, Mexico, no thats not a joke. Chiwahua... sad. Then they laid thousands off myself included, but I still talk to some oldtimers out there and they said its a ghost town and they have unsold planes stacked up

  • nice as always Tim, gas planes are nice. I have a couple.

  • @areo74 You bet hey thank again for this comment.. Awesome.>Tim
