Are you still planning to do a Part 4 to this Build Log?? I'm on the fence about whether I want to build a HTPC, or not. I conclusion to this series, complete with your final thoughts on a HTPC in general would be great.
@SingularityComputers I thought you were from Australia, I'm from Perth. Btw nice system im currently building my first water cooled setup up. Just a question? Umm how would you run your water loop? Would you go Reservoir > Pump > Radiator > CPU ???
@lowrider649 Sounds good, although the order doesn't matter very much as long as you have good flow. Because the liquid moves too fast through the loop to heat up at each component, it heats up gradually after many revolutions.
you can remove the hardrives and put the hoses at the bottom and put a small GPU like a gtx 550ti, 560, 560ti* or a gtx 570 HD* maybe the last 2 would fit but measure befor buying and then stick an SSD on top of the PSU with double sided tape ;)
@WoodLKyle Depends on the video card. You should certainly be able to fit something like the 550ti or 560ti without a problem. I would put a 3.5" drive flat onto the bottom of the case and an SSD on top of the PSU, then you can turn the H100 around the other way to allow space for the video card.
@alterbr33d I paid $75 extra for the smoked black, it wasn't in the list of colors selectable when ordering. I had to make the request by email. You can pretty much get whatever color you want if you are willing to pay a bit extra.
you buy your components from pc case gear? how are they in terms of customer service and australia wide shipping? cause i might consider buying parts for my rig from them.
@ALO1WHE3LZ PC Case Gear are awesome. I have been buying from them for years and I have never had a problem once. I have been through warranties etc and everything has always been sorted out promptly. I highly recommend them.
@SingularityComputers thanks mate, you have saved me from the possibly conflicting customer service of msy, cause my cousin goes there for his stuff but the treat him like a noob and hes 23 -_-
@observer2283 50,000hrs it should be, like most other computer components. If anyone else has any input on the actual lifespan of these prebuilt kits, comments would be appreciated.
@SingularityComputers thanks im thinking bout putting the antec h20 620 on my pc buy wasnt sure bout the lifespan of the cooler or should i just go with an after market fan?
@PcandTech actually it will do quite a bit, ive seen configs like this before and its like haveing a 2TB SSD, pretty much the same performance if you pair up the same SSD but with a black drive

Can you fit a video card as well as the h100?

@WoodLKyle i think so...

I can see on the DD website it is +$15 to have a top/bottom color. Did they charge you extra on top of that for the smoked black?
I would love to do smoked black, but with the blood shot top / bottom.

@SingularityComputers
I ordered the case. Do you think a 247mm video card can fit before the radiator? It has side pwr cables.
247mm(GFX) - 343mm(DD) is 95.25mm
The H100 is 25mm.
Thanks

Great vid I suppose a thin 120mm fan would fit better however wouldn't be as good of flow and more then likely louder.

The green drives are not for performance so the ssd wont do much

Are you using the the pre-applied thermal paste with the H100?
TheIrredeemable 5 months ago
nice fans i picked up some of these fans on sale on for 7 bucks each, good quality and airflow for a radiator.
