No, I will deny it. And I will do it OVAR THE INTERNETS. Mega Man X4 was one of the best in the X series. Mega Man 9 and 10 (but more so 9) brought back the intensity, variety, and fantastically fun challenge of the 8-bit series in a way not previously possible. The Mega Man Legends series, although with outdated controls, was pretty damn fun. The Mega Man Zero series with its neo-dystopian future was amazing. And not to mention the arcade exclusives from Japan.

Zero was always better than Megaman X, and always will be. Besides, X never had enough melee weapons to really fit into a fighting game all that well. I mean think about it, the only melee weapon X ever had was the Z-Saber in Megaman X6.
