i have been doing some research on palm tree and its benefits. i have a 3 hectare lot.i know it not that big but i want to start small. i was wondering if you could give me some pointer sir?like for how much to start this kind of crop. how long before it becomes money and what are the do's and donts? thank you in advance

Whether you process the crude oil or not its still call biodiesel as long as its plantsource or biomass. Like yesterday, I made biodiesel using my diesel engine by pouring SVO into my pajero fuel tank and off to office I go. Isn't that great?
You're not actually making biodiesel. Biodiesel is vegetable oil that's been altered on a molecular level. What you're doing is just blending straight vegetable oil. And no, it's not better than processed biodiesel.
How do you know that I didn't run that oil through a biodiesel processor to remove the glycerin and saturated fat? The oil in that video meets ASTM D-6751 standard. But, better than processed biodiesel is a mixture of 90% straight palm oil and 10% ethyl alcohol.
Big (petr)oil companies hate biofuels... they might even manipulate the market to make you think there will be a lack of food (rice, corn...) if the world try to turn into ethanol or biodiesel consumers..
I agree, for example biodiesel made from Jatropha, pollutes about 1/5 as much as regular diesel, but the plants needed to produce that diesel actually extract more carbon from the air than they produce, not to mention that Jatropha can be used on really arrid and otherwise useless land, other oild sources are good too, depends on whats available, and climate etc.
You're right on the money, gilgamesh. I work with a Western Canadian biofuels company growing jatropha in Kenya (a stable, insurable, and business-friendly jurisdiction). Any Canadians looking for an ethical, environmentally friendly, and high-yielding investment should contact me privately.
Better than processed biodiesel is a mix of 90% straight palm oil and 10% ethyl alcohol. However, a lot of the oil is processed with methanol and sodium hydroxide to remove the saturated fat and glycerin content.
yeah but where do you get the machine you use to press the oil out of the seeds ?

Algae is way better as far as bio-diesel production is concerned.. This may be cool for someone who owns palms.. but thats about it.

Nice work David. We are currently bidding a custom mobile processor that will be a complete seed to fuel processor, for a college on the east coast.

how's the mileage on this bio fuel?
been following algae for a while but palm seed oil is new to me.

How long has this vehicle been running on 90/10 oil/alcohol? I'm curious to see the damage not processing the oil will do.

No damage at all. After 200,000 miles, the engine runs cleaner with better fuel eonomy.

No, it's good for the environment. People are just unaware. Spread the word. There's a lot of money in it, too.

Are you turning the palm oil into biodiesel or jsut using using it straight?
