they can find his body because the cemetary is on a hill and when ever glenwood would have mud slides all the graves would slide down the hill and get mixed up
Been up there back in 2000, seemed they got rid of the old tombstone they placed in the memorial for the one thats used currently. Hadn't been there in 10-11 years.
ole doc was a lunger, which it was called in those days. you gotta love his way of life though. always the gentleman with bignose kate who ran with him. playing poker in the saloon until the sun came up, robbing stage coaches in the afternoon for more playing money and making ONE incredible shot across the room to knock someone's gun out of their hand. legend was born. and he was wyatt earp's bestest bud too, that helped.
Holliday died from tuberculous of which he had suffered many years. When he went to Glenwood Springs he thought the sulfur, hot water would help. It actually made it worst. There was a group who took his body and put it in a cellar, to hold for reward.
When no reward was offered they dumped him with the others at the bottom of the hill.
Holliday was left at the bottom of the hill because of the cold weather. There were several bodies there. The local town handyman was hired to move the bodies up the hill. Holliday had made friends with the man and bought him drinks. Holliday was the only friend the man had. He took it very hard when Holliday died. He moved Holliday to the top of the hill with a horse and tetter. He put him in the spot he is today. The other bodies were put in one grave. Go check it out and you will see.
i understand that doc may not be in this cemetery at all, but down at the bottom of the hill (the cemetery is at the top of the hill). even if he is in the cemetery, nobody seems to sure where.
This is not Doc Holidays grave. It is a tribute to him. His real grave is to the right of this monument about 30 feet. Under a stone sticking out of the ground with xxx on it.
Actually, I have been there and I have hiked up to the grave. So why do you think you can leave a poor judgement comment when you don't know crap. You don't know me and I don't know you so why do you care.
I have pictures of my trip to Glenwood Springs and Doc's grave, so tell me, how do you know for a fact that I haven't been there. I live only 170 miles away, so it is not that hard to get there. So... you don't know for a fact.... Slick!
Yes, actually I do know for a fact. If you have these pictures you claim to have, then show me a picture that shows you standing in front of his grave.
i don't want to say this but, doc hollidays grave is at the bottom of the hill, it was winter time when he past on,and the town's pepole thought they would do it in the spring, but left him were he is to day, now he is in someone's back yeard! it's in the history book's, sorry

@johnwolfman
It was a tough walk, slipped a few times. Didn't see another person up there. Snow was about 5 to 6 inches on the ground.

I've read that Holliday's grave is most likely on the hill, and probably where you took your video.

That hike to the cemetery is a pain in the butt, I bet it was even more fun in the snow.
