i have an 08 lancer es cvt i plan on Getting a manual with a heavy clutch. Then have mitsubishi dealer ship program the engine and dash for a manual trans swap. but I was wondering what would be the best manual tranny to get to do this swap with my 4b11 motor i'm trying to get a M/T that can sustain 280 - 300+ hp with no problem. and also if I put forged internals in my 4b11 motor would my engine be able to sustain the turbo if I have a tranny cooler, intercooler, and A cold air intake etc.

dude its a sequntial gear box just a easy way to change gears most racecars hav them so they can change really quick and dont hav to worry about gettin the stick into the grove u pull down or push up to change to 1st and so on and the otherway goes down

somthing about mits i like dont know y may it was my 2nd car but efficent car my first car was a jeep cheerokee that took about 15 secs to start but besides that when it was runnin it ran pretty good.i got some money went to a dealership bought a mits es lancer 03 perfect for me...now its totalled :)....but ithink a es lancer fixed up kept with the same motor just fixed up and made as strong as can be made would beawesome they are great cars comfy blah blahblah...

No offense to you all, but you don't obviously know much.... Its not an automatic, its the 5 speed with a 1,200 dollar rachet shifter. Snd the deal with swapping a Evo motor into it????? Then its not a lancer anymore. I have a built 2006 lancer ES turbo running 14psi on stocks, there decent motors and can take a shitload of abuse. Like I said, no offense but try to know what your talking about before you scream "AUTOMATIC"...

@strafe501 The point of that shifter is for racing..... either drag racing, rally racing, circuit racing.... etc. You don't have to worry about missing a gear, its pull back to change up, and push forward to change down. And dont say anything about racing a FWD, most of britians touring cars are FWD, and there are FWD rally classes.

basically... pistons and rods. and a good intercooled turbo kit. to hit 250+ you would be pushing more then 10psi, custom built kits with your own combination of parts normally comes out cheaper and with the powerband you want. rest of the mods you would do inline with the kit yourself.
