Are there any winners in Iran having a nuclear bomb? Israel has backing of Saudi Arabia in this, and US has just settled a huge arms deal with Saudis. The Saudis loathe the regime in Tehran. I'm not sure what will happen, but Iran is a huge issue.

Yes i just WISH i could trust Ahmadinejad when he said exactly this - he claims to think that nuclear bombs are "disgusting". We must all agree with him in practice (i.e. detonated on a city), they are the vilest creations of science. But in principle (game theory of war), the nuclear deterrent is a powerful weapon to keep world stable!
My biggest concern is about endtimes prophecies -Perhaps Iran will nuke Israel anyway,to enact prophesied "final confrontation with jews"

The same can be said of the evangelical Christians in America, should they form sizeable demographic in republican / tea party - style movement up to & after next election. The eschaton is never far away in superstitious people, but has gathered a pace thanks to the crazy finding other crazies on the internet. Obama is being nice to muslims in lots of ways at the moment - so i doubt he will be inanely attempting to precipitate an eschaton, but after 2012..who knows. :-(
