Colors was also great, it had all the day stages from unleashed, with NO gimic, well besides the wisps, and generations has both modern gameplay and classic gameplay with past stages and 2 Sonic XD, Sonic is BACK, no BAD! although he was for A LONG TIME!!!

The day stages in Unleashed were the worst thing that's ever to happened to the series. The Werehog and the wonderful hub worlds saved it from being a complete failure. Luckily Colors was a lot more fun.

However I'm not going to say he is bad or good, the Sonic X series was good, and he does fine with Nintendo.

Wonder why people wanted Shadow the Hedgehog to be a Sonic game. His name's not even in the bloody title. It's a Shadow game. Sonic has his own titles. Let Shadow have at his one.

I was kinda disappointed at how it was different from the other Sonic games, till I realized it WASN'T a Sonic game. Like 2D puritans who complain about the 3D Sonic games, don't play them then. Simple.

Here is what I feel Sega can do to bring Sonic "back-to-basics": 1) Focus on Sonic and his abilities more. 2) Stick with 2D or 2.5D gameplay view. 3) Bring back exciting bonus rounds. 4) Bring back monster Robotnik bosses. 5) Bring Sonic back to Mobius. 6) Limit playable characters. 7) Create a fresh and authentic story mode around Sonic's background.

@ChrisLacy1990 lady's and gentlemen, i give you Sonic Unleashed. okay so it doesnt have all of that stuff you mentioned, but it still had a really exciting story, good gameplay, fast levels, not a large amount of characters, alot of robotnik's machine bosses, and, along with a cool 3d style, it also had some fun 2d moments. it wasnt perfect, but i had fun with it, and ive been a fan of sonic since sonic 2 for the genesis.

@potterbond I have "Sonic Unleashed" and I absolutely loved playing as Sonic The Hedgehog during the day. When I played as Sonic the Werehog, it was hard to jump onto certain platforms but I loved the special attacks he possessed. I have the entire Sonic collection on Xbox 360 and I can't wait for "Sonic The Hedgehog 4" to hit shelves.

I liked Sonic for years now. I played Sonic on the old consoles, except sega CD. I never did get a dreamcast, wish I could of. I got Sonic DX, Sonic Adventure Battle, and Sonic heroes. Shadow the hedgehog was dark, provocative. It was exactly what I expected from a game based around Shadow. Sonic Riders was actually a blast.

In looking at how Sonic Heroes was executed I think it would''ve done Sonic Team justic to utilize a similar mechanic in 06 with how you had to conveniently switch characters in certain stages instead of you getting so far and meeting up with another character only to control them from that point on. imo that was kind've sloppy especially since the supporting characters follow you at certain points anyway.

that was because after SA2, Sega needed to cut budgets, they fired the writers, the original Sonic Team except Jun Senoue and Yuji Naka didn´t like the new team and retired after Heroes, they also changed to a cheaper voice cast.
