Well I read that theres one last effort between spyker & GM to come to a deal. They have till the end of this month to buy Saab. (so i still have SOME hope...) This is all GM's fault! They sullied Saab's good name from the moment they bought them.

Quirky is an understatement. It makes no sense that this car lasted as long as it did. It should have never been propped up as long as it was. The car was as whacky as a camel on a frozen lake and the people who drove them all wore the same bowties with khaki shorts.  Along with the Studebaker the world is better off without this goofy transport.

The problem is that GM thought of itself as a money making company which it was, in 1970, not a car company. It didn't adapt despite a very large lead. Gm should have been Chapter 7 ed and it's assets sold to a new and vibrant group or groups of people. I'm notsaying Saab would have survived but I suspect GM took every bit of profit out of the company and forced Saab to produce GMish crap cars that the public wouldn't buy.

i love gm and there brands and have only ever owned vehicles made by them as they have been very satisfying but after this news i can understand why people would want to boycott the companies brands and to be quite honest i cant blame them! a company like saab which make such good cars and the potential to make a lot of exciting updated models are left to just die because gm couldnt care less! they should be ashamed of themselves and i am seriously considering moving to another make :(

After 14 years and 160,000, my Saab still drives great and I am so sad to see them go. Some of you folks are complete idiots, so no responses to anyone but stargate, yes, sad people will lose their jobs. Sad also that a unique car was so poorly managed by GM, they destroyed it. Next year, will be finally time to retire the Saab...planned on giving it to a friend's 16 year old son. But do not know if he will be able to maintain it, if no more parts are made. Damn.
