So that's fine. The console version may suck because they'll have to cut corners everywhere and chances that publishers will rush the process and it will have to be done rougly, but it can still be a very good game on a console if done properly. Doing it the other way around doesn't work though.

@mcilrain ok game A is made for pc. its great. game A is then ported to consoles. how did the console effect the pc version again? if its ported from pc to console its not the same as if it were made with consoles in mind. RO2 is a pc game first and foremost, but a console port now won't make the game worse. look at the witcher 2 for example, pc release followed by a console release. both game will be great.
@SwindleUK Tripwire are well known for their long post-release support, developing and supporting a console version will result in less love for the PC version. In the case of The Witcher 2, the porting is outsourced, I don't have a problem with that other than it being a very rare thing to happen.
That being said, I doubt it will get ported due to lack of a market on consoles, the PC has always had the bigger "hardcore/serious FPS" audience, and RO2 is fairly niche.

@Belka1077 the bar is lowered in so many areas, graphics, large maps, player sizes even modding, they do not bother with it much any more and its really bad for pc gamers there are quality mods that have been produced from mod tools, dice used to support battlefield with tools but now they dont bother coz of consoles, the biggest thing that makes a game worse is the skill level required, a controller can never out aim a mouse and theres just way more buttons on a keyboard too complex for console

@futurerev21 if a game is released on all platforms it becomes a wreck, it gets designed for console gamers and we get a lesser product on pc, we get nothing the pc is capable of and the game play is sub par because its designed for a controller and casual gamers or the "mass market of newbs". if a game is released on console after its out on pc first, the franchise basicly just get totally geared to consoles again, so the pc community loses. look at call of duty, that was a amazing game once.

The pc version is still a dx9 game with dx11 support. dx9 will still linger on as long as the 360 and ps3 do.

@mcilrain ok game A is made for pc. its great. game A is then ported to consoles. how did the console effect the pc version again? if its ported from pc to console its not the same as if it were made with consoles in mind. RO2 is a pc game first and foremost, but a console port now won't make the game worse. look at the witcher 2 for example, pc release followed by a console release. both game will be great.

@SwindleUK Tripwire are well known for their long post-release support, developing and supporting a console version will result in less love for the PC version. In the case of The Witcher 2, the porting is outsourced, I don't have a problem with that other than it being a very rare thing to happen.
That being said, I doubt it will get ported due to lack of a market on consoles, the PC has always had the bigger "hardcore/serious FPS" audience, and RO2 is fairly niche.

@Belka1077 the bar is lowered in so many areas, graphics, large maps, player sizes even modding, they do not bother with it much any more and its really bad for pc gamers there are quality mods that have been produced from mod tools, dice used to support battlefield with tools but now they dont bother coz of consoles, the biggest thing that makes a game worse is the skill level required, a controller can never out aim a mouse and theres just way more buttons on a keyboard too complex for console

@futurerev21 if a game is released on all platforms it becomes a wreck, it gets designed for console gamers and we get a lesser product on pc, we get nothing the pc is capable of and the game play is sub par because its designed for a controller and casual gamers or the "mass market of newbs". if a game is released on console after its out on pc first, the franchise basicly just get totally geared to consoles again, so the pc community loses. look at call of duty, that was a amazing game once.

@10lettername well graphically consoles aren't half as good as a good gaming rig, then also console players are far less receptive to different games, as they are ruled by 2 or three main franchises, so in other words if this game were to go on consoles a. it probably couldn't be marketed for a full retail disk game b. they would also have to include many other features like auto-aim and such that if wouldn't need for pc
