@Tsubahi she was originally going to stay independent (like the author) but so many fans shipped her with laurie, and the author thought it was cause they wanted her to get married, soo :(

Wow really thats the first thing I noticed and remember from the book! I imagined Jo with chestnut brown hair and braids but she actually looks more femenine than Meg which is the opposite of what I imagined!
