Love this man, Dan Fogelberg. Everything about him, his talent, his voice, how engaging he is with the audience and the songs he is singing for us. He wrote these songs b/c that's what he does, but he made sure that, the Earth, nature, the animals, sea life, the sky (ozone) the American Indian was noticed, and he reminds us that they all need to be cared for BY US. Our Mother Earth must be cared for, or like he says "it will bring extinction for our children, gr children, and us too.
@btex99 I want to travel with the songs in my heart and the sky and stars above me what more could a person ask for except someone to share it with and who knows maybe someday He will happen along until then I will let God be my pilot!
Dan sang about the environment LONG before it became fashionable and so common. He loved the earth; the Native Amercans; the mountains; the sea; life; what a beautiful man!
I moved to Colorado in 1982 because of Dan and John Denver. They shared with so many the beauty of Colorado and the respect for the environment that comes with living in these beautiful and majestic mountains. I miss them both and thank them everyday when I look outside and see what they saw.
It's unfortunate for the ones that don't have this on DVD/VHS to watch. The beginning is really awesome. It's the landscape of what I believe is Colorado and possibly Dan's ranch. Aurora Nova is playing in the background,it fades and then the introduction of Dan on stage performing The Wild Places. I found it to be really awesome. I can see why he loved that part of the country.
I cannot get enough of these Dan Fogelberg videos, thanks for posting them!!! Did anyone else see the encore airing of the Soundstage concert on Thursday night? Bebo, what happened to Laygand, all of his videos are deleted again!!!!!
Just got the dvd of Greetings From the West the other day. I've played at least 100 times and it just keeps getting better! I love this man's music! He always sang my life! I miss him.

Guys!
I know it's not your favorite thing to do, but get your prostate checked once a year, PLEASE!
You have people who love and care about you. Do it for them, if not for yourself.
If Dan had done it, he might still be with us.

If there ever was a song that epitomizes who I am---this is absolutely it. The Wild Places are within us all.
Again, Thank You Dan. And Rest.

This was such a GREAT concert! The set is taken from the typical architecture in Santa Fe, where Dan lived for a while. I live there, too!
