  • RIP.

  • The last scene is what I would like to do for the rest of my life...

  • @neoskosmos01 Me too...so peaceful...

  • what a nice comment on the state of the world with some beautiful poetry. i remember that day the yanks brought "shock and awe" to Baghdad. sitting here in the west it made me feel deeply sick, look over my own city and wondering.. and this song sums up that feeling for me wonderfully. Much love PJ xx :)

  • let it burn....

  • What album is this from

  • @felpen537 From 2011's "Let England Shake"

  • Woah, I thought that I was hallucinating or that I had another video playing when that Niney "Blood and Fire" sample came on. Crazy.

  • can't stop playing this album...brilliant.

  • 3:32 not stereotyping "Northern lasses" in any way...

  • blood and fire.

  • You can almost sedate yourself listening to this track.

  • Blood and Fire-Niney the Observer. What a truly inspired use of a 60's skinhead reggae sample.Seen this lady at primavera festival. She is a fucking genius. Stick all your singer/songwriters up your indie arseholes. She rules. Shabba

  • only problem with this song: it ends.

  • @AdamTDP I just hit 'play again'.

  • the guy in the background makes me feel like dancing around a fireside in trance in some kind of shaman ceremony. really pleasant... though if i was a fireman id hate this song :D

  • It depresses me a little bit to know that this song is a somewhat about wars in the Middle East, with all that oil bruning and those people killing each other. This song always meant something like a happy-calmed-dancing-uplifting feeling to me.

  • @janotosinnumeros It's mostly about the first world war as far as I know.

  • @1numanoid I don't know, beacuse in the description from the movie director, he says the song is set in a Middle-Eastern war setting

  • It's far from the best track.

  • She still astounds me with her brilliant work.

  • It ain´t over until Polly sings.

  • I like how the samples don;t really fit with the song but flit back and forth in the background... ;p

  • Total genius.... the words are full of horror but the music sounds like the sun coming up. Almost too much to bear... incredible work.

  • she is at the top of her powers!

  • I always thought she sang 'people throwing dinos at the bellydancers'.

Beautiful song. It has such a deep atmosphere and I love the emotional voice of Polly Jean here. PJ is a genious.

  • Fantastic song, fantastic album... Listening to this track while driving is so beautiful. Thanks Polly Jean for this.

  • I wonder what would a PJ Harvey and Thea Gilmore collaboration would sound like?!

  • Iraq <3

  • I love this song but...Why do I keep thinking she's gonna start singing "The Rubber Band Man"?

  • hahahaa! nice vid polly poo

  • I can't get enough of this song. By far, my favorite on the album. I feel sad, then happy, then sad, then happy..... LOVE!

  • This is probably my second favorite anti-war album.

"The Final Cut" will always be the greatest such album.

  • @EdiblePlanets

    let me guess :

    # 3 = Arcade Fire - Neon Bible

  • i like this album, but i don't understand why her vocals can't be pure and have to have that ugly doubletracking going on...

  • BEST ALBUM EVER! POLLY I LOVE YOU!

  • Fab song, right on message with what's happening - love the album. Hope I get to see PJ on tour.

  • PJ Harvey has more talent than the rest of the music industry put together. So underrated it is criminal. She sends chills down my spine with every word she sings and every intriguing beautiful harmonic change that structure her songs. This is sophisticated but unpretentious Rock. Is she a genius?

  • Let our soul shake

  • Wow...just...wow. PJ...thank you for becoming a musician. I love you.

  • she is back- in my opinnion this is the beat album of the year!

  • If I ever go to England, 3:51 that's my idea of a perfect day over there... u.u

  • god damn this song is so catchy, this is the first time I listen to it and I can't take the chorus out of my head.

  • I can't watch this without weeping. It makes me want to rend my clothes and cover myself in sack cloth and ashes.

  • blood, blood, blood, blood and fire

  • love polly x

  • outstanding, creative gem.

  • outstanding, creative gem.

  • that parting smile on her face is priceless.....a spark of hope in a song of such desperation and hopelessness

  • I really love these shorts! It's almost as though I'm disappointed that the album isn't longer. There's only On Battleship Hill to go. Such an amazing piece of work. Harvey's had an impact on my life that no other artist could ever come close to. I hope she continues to do so.
