  • omg that is so cute

  • This meeting went pretty well. It's quite obvious when your old piggie doesn't like the new one. They'll chatter their teeth and charge at each other. Unfortunately that happened when I wanted to add a 3rd piggie to my little group. :( After the new one was bitten 2 times (blood was drawn) I gave up on it, it didn't seem fair. So now my new piggie is living in a seperate pen close to the other ones. They can see, smell and hear each other but not touch.

  • My piggy is alone..I wonder if she needs a friend.

  • sadly, they never get along. i guess it's the boy thing. they like to be in a big cage, but separate rooms.

  • @93561 My males get along fine and none and we got them all on a different day

  • How long did it take before they got along and could stay in the same cage?

  • These are cute Guinea Pigs, but GET A PROPER GUINEA PIG/RABBIT HUTCH! They should be able see what's outside, and it should have a lid. But you can't have a lid cuz it's PLASTIC!

  • Wow the orange and white one is really small compared to the other one. Was he just a baby at the time?

  • ok first male can live together so that person is a dick 2nd that cage is crappy

  • please get a bigger cage.

  • Poor Pig. Its not like a Friend, its more like in Prison in a couple ways...

  • I Bet the little one Getting Raped!!! D:

  • Two males together is not a good idea... Bad one...

  • This smaller one is like, "Oh, ok. Enough, already."

  • That`s exactly what my guinea pig does when he meets another ..

  • I love it when people and animals make new friends!! So cute!

  • Is that a temperary place you keep them in? I hope so. If not, they should have a water bottle and a much larger area :) I'm getting guinea pigs soon so I'm building my knowledge of them ;)

  • get a water bottle and that one scratching has mites take it to a vet

  • @shavoneisabuckeye201

this was a temp. place for them to dry up after shower.

they have vet checked.. no mite.

  • I dont think you need to bond them.

they bond themselves when you are asleep

    :D

  • Can I ask were both of them washed I think I can see the baby was washed but was the adult as I am wanting to bond a baby with my adult and if I need to wash the adult.

    Thanks!

  • if u have 2 then u should have a bigger cage. r they from the same breed because i think the little one was scared'

  • the little one is scared to death o.o poor guy

  • my piggies did that same thing sadly one of em died...

  • 2 day my lizard and my 2 guinea pigs met each other at my back yard =)

my lizard was on his black rock basking in the sun and he saw 2 guinea pigs eating grass then he ran towards them and walk over them over their food bowl then looked back like..

'get the hell out of my garden!'

  • @victorhugomuzi

that's cute. you got a video or picture of your lizard and guinea pigs?

  • @93561 sadly no but ill take some pics of them together next weekend :D

  • i think anytime after they dont need their mother will do.

we let our kids play around with other kids when they are young too.

guinea pigs love companion. so, probably the earlier you give them a friend the better.

  • Do they get along with each other well? Usually two males put together start to fight.

  • I really dont hope that is there normal cage? Its WAY to small for even one guinea pig and way to sterile. Much bigger. More houses and tunnels. That just wrong to live in. :(

  • @funnystarchild

it is a temporary cage. just to dry to after a bath.

  • @93561 HEY !! please answer =D

i got a new guinea pig ( male ) he is 4 months old ( birth 9 of April )

When is he an "adult" and ready to get a new friend? ( male friend because we dont want guinea pig babies..) and how old should his new friend be?

  • Hope that is not there regular cage.

  • @atworkguy

that's just temporary cage for them to dry.

  • Cute but gay xD

  • we had what we thought was 3 females.........and then magically we had 8 baby pigs.........and now we have 3 girls and 3 boys XD

  • Cavity search

  • oooohhh the big one is a male right? because i have a huge male and a baby girl guinea and the male guinea is trying to do that to her too and about a year ago i had a little girl with the same male and he did that to her which made her have babies *_* soo i keep the lil baby girl away from the big male. just to let u know, in case you dont want her to have babies lol

  • @alexa00911 thanks for the concern. both of them are male. i think the big one is just trying to know the small one better.

  • @93561 yeah i think so to i was just making sure :)

  • @93561 the big one is showing the little one he's the boss ;) i just got a new guinea pig who is eight weeks old. my older guinea pig is 25 weeks old and doing just the same. it's normal, it's just to let the little one know who's the boss. how are they doing now? :)

  • @alexa00911 if they`re boys, the big one is just showing the little one who`s the boss. mine did the same when i brought him a new friend, and they were the same age. that`s how they establish their hierarchy :D

anyway, they`re reaaaaaally cute, take care of them :D

  • @TheKid102938 thats what i was saying, i have 5 guinea pigs O_O

  • this is acactly what mines did exept the other one wasnt a baby so he did it back after a day

  • @uncle0ruckus hahaha.. cool

  • Hope you get a bigger pen.

  • @atworkguy yes we did. that was just temporary.

  • @93561 Cheers. Good lookin' pigs!

  • He is doing this because the pup still smells of it's mother. This should stop over time when the smell wears of and when the pup grows so it can defend itself! If you want to know more this is a good website: guineapigtree.c0m

  • thanks

  • how old were your piggies when u did this?

  • the black one is about 4 months old

the white one just a few weeks old.

  • how long should the dominance thing go on

  • i am not sure. but i think i dont see them doing that any more.

maybe coz the white one is bigger than the black one now.

  • Its trying to shag the other guineapig

  • that what my GP's do and their both boyyyss!! :S

  • Is that normal?I brought friend to my guinea pig just moments ago and they did that same thing,i though that they dont like eachother, are they friends? How much time it took to make them friends?

  • dont worry, they are like brothers. sometimes they fight, sometimes they play, sometimes, they sleep together.

  • weres the water bottle and food

  • this was a temporary stay for them. they are now staying in a 3-4 times bigger space now.

there is a bowl of water in the corner.

    thanks for your concern btw.

  • u need a bigger cage for them thats y they fight probably even for one piggy that cage is to small

  • no getting two males is bad. Two males usually fight for dominance, unless the other one is very young, or they have been born in the same litter, or have lived with each other for a long time.

  • Can some1 tell me if its okay 2 have 2 male or 2 female piggys together beacause I want 2 have 2 piggys but if they will fight then I wont ..please some1 reply!!

  • i have two males.

they fight sometimes, but i think it's fine.

    that's how boys play

    :p

  • 2 males or 2 females is what you SHOULD have. Only put a male with a female if they're neutered/spayed. They piggies will initially fight/argue for dominance and then they should get along just fine

  • I hav 2 female piggies... and they don't fight because they grew up together at the petshop.

  • one was trying to mate the boy will they are both boys but that naturual for them

  • you gave the little one a bath didnt you

  • yes,, straight after i bought him from the market.

  • i have two and they did that for about 3 days then stopped and now they are housed seperately cause they fight

  • you probably got 2 males didnt you?

  • i can tell that they are both male because my male and female didnt do that

  • is this male and female? bcuz my male did that to my female i though they were doing it and i dont think it was for dominence. but he is nudered.

  • they are both males.

    :D

  • lol im thinking about getting my guinea pig a new friend too he seems so lonely i feel bad.

  • hes a mean daddy

  • wow the black white and light orange color looks exactly like mine

  • is there a mouse in there als0>:D

  • wow... you noticed!

    :D

yup... there is a mouse there. the owner of the guinea pigs i bought said, i can have a mouse for free.

  • IR WASNT MOVING BUT COULD TELL...

  • and they havent hurt the mouse yet

  • i love tht noise!!!! mine do it alot when i get food or grass for them. :D

  • lol thats wat my guinea pig did when i met his friend whos dead now:( RIP smirnoff

  • there trin to mate

  • u should ge a bigger cage. threre suppose to have 10. 5 ft when there are two piggys.

    check out cavycages . com

    no space

  • yup... done...

    that is a temporary cage.

it has been upgraded to 4 times bigger.

    :D

  • so if i put another male or female in the same cage as my guineapig, they wont fight?shes a female btw

  • i am not an expert. but i think, if you put two different gender guinea pigs together, you gonna end up with a lot of guinea pigs within a year.

if you put two males together, as long as they have enuf space to mark their territory and hiding place, they should live in harmony.

  • I dunno why but my 2 girl ginnies liek to smell each other's butt :P

  • thye are soooo cute, they aren't gay they are doing it as a sign of dominance over the other

  • They do this to establish dominance; my males started like this and now they're best buds..with benefits..lol. Yea, unfortunately mine never grew out of it. At least once a day I hear a rape squeak and run in to find one of them thrusting the other, lol!

My older boy initially held the title of alpha male, but as the younger approached adolescence, he began challenging for the position. Twice I found random "piggie juices" on the other.. num num!!

    ..lol good luck. :-)

  • LMAO

  • really hope you have a bigger cage now. but for the rest, I remeber when I make my male meet with smaller ones, he was like that to! they are very cute!

  • i lost my guinea pig today....and wow 2 males?lmao

  • aww so sad i lost my hamster the other day but now im getting a guinea pig

  • Looks like one of your piggys is..ehh.."In the mood".

    They are so cute though!

  • i love guinea pigs the color of the small one

  • it is now bigger than the black one.

    :p

    big fat guinea pigs....

they are better than heat pack during winter.

  • ahhhh that is cute i love guinea pigs my self but can u tell me where u bought urs

  • i bought from a market... and they had mites.

i think you should buy from proper pet shop instead.

  • hey i have a gurl gp but im thinking of buying a boy in put them in the cage....will there be a problem? like fighting, killing 1 onther,i no they might mate though

  • i dont think they'll fight to death. just be prepare to have lots of gp in near future.

    :p

  • My older piggie bit my younger one's neck , at first we didn't realize that but after a month i noticed a sist under her neck. i took her to a vet he said it's a bite that has turned to infection, so she had to have an opperation and it cost about 900$i got the second 1 cuz the first 1 was alone but now i'm afraid to put them in the same cage.

  • so that is exactly what mine are doing will they ever get over it?

  • the white one is now bigger than the black one now. sometimes the black one still try to... go on top of the white one. but the white one can defend himself now. a few small quarrals... but no harm. :D

  • Be careful putting two males in the same cage. I had two guinea pigs, female, in the same cage a while back and they fought all the time until one day my bigger pig killed the smaller one. Snapped her neck. It was horrible. I hear that male guinea pigs are very dominant, and will fight easily with other males. Just keep close watch.

  • Madskittlesbri, if your female guinea pig killed another one then there was something ery wrong going on. Most likely, your cage was too small, or the pigs had mites which can make them overly aggressive. you should have separated them when you saw they're nt getting along. Poor pigs.

I have three males in one cage and three females in another one and they get along just fine.

  • They got along just fine until she killed the other. idk.

  • thats wat my pigs did!!!

  • the little one i soooo cute:)

  • this thing excactly did my gp when i took him a new friend

  • Actually, all guinea pigs will mount one another... boars will mount other boars as a sign of dominance, this is established early on for the herd to show who is in charge. Sows, same deal. That's shown by what you said earlier, about your black piggie leading, because of his established dominance. But he was also being friendly by grooming his younger 'cousin' along the way. Hope this helps dispel any rumors from curious minds.

  • er... i have both male guinea pigs. no hamster.

but two of them sometimes quarrel. no real fight.

  • dont put your hamster in with your guinea pigs as hamsters are very territorial and will attack the guinea pig

  • How are they doing now?

  • they are doing fine.

the small one is now bigger than the black one.

but the small one still respect the black one as the black one always lead in the front.

  • Try keeping them in a larger cage.. guinea pigs will get neurotic or ill if you keep them in a cramped space.. the cubes and coroplast cages seen at cavyspirit (dot) com are customizable

  • agree.

they have a much bigger space now.

feel sorry for them being kept in such small space before.

  • umm i think there male and female the larger one was mounting

  • the larger one hope the small one is a female.

    but too bad, both males.

    :p

  • i had 2 guinea pigs, and 1 died ys2day, we got a new 1 2day, but my 1st 1 keeps beatin her up, what shuld i do?????

  • 1st one a girl?

i think just let them fight a while. they'll be friend soon.

1st one a boy... you be careful your new guinea pig get pregnant.

  • they are both gurls, they are a lil bta nowm ty for ur advice

  • thats what my guinea pig to the new 1 kept on smelling her but. i thought dogs did that lol

  • hmm glad i found this vid i recently got a new guinea today and my older one is being very aggressive to the new young one by biting her should i just seperate them? or possibly let them get use to one another

  • my understanding, guinea pigs arent violent animals and they like companies.

if i am you, i'll keep them together until they really fight until one of them start bleeding. which i dont think they will.

  • is that a shoe box ur keeping those guinea pigs in?

  • guinea pigs are big.

you cant keep them in shoe boxes

  • u CAN'T let them do this, the small guinea pig is famale and can get very sick because she is not ready... She need's to be at least 5months old!!!

  • i am very very sure they are both males. got vet checked. and already 1 yr old without babies. thanks for being concern.

  • You realize that those dilapitated, crowded conditions you have those two pigs living in. They need three times as much space. It also looks like you've never cleaned that cage out. Plus, guinea pigs need a wire cage so they can have ventilation, not a plastic tub.

  • yup... already built them a 3 times bigger wire cage.

  • My apologies

  • it's ok... we are all guinea pigs lover

    :)

  • What did you just say there?

  • When they mount, they are establishing dominance, so I don't think they are gay. xD
