if you can't get this, neoprene is great too, and is more durable... I am using it and it is more sensitive with the neoprene then without it and it is quiter and stays long !

mouse mats work perfectly. (the neoprene ones)

you get a good springyness too since they're rubbery inside.

as for residue, just tape them in place or something or maybe use velcro so that when you replace the pads you dont add more and more stickyness to them ;)

to make them better, just make the sock mod by azuritereaction, then put mouse pads under them.

The foam mats will rupture overtime while you hit them, then they will start to thin and make as much noise as pads without the homemade silencer, and because you would have to peel them off they are stuck with adhesive so you'll get residue on the pads and they will be less reponsive. I knew this would happen the minute I watched this..

you know what else works and its cheap you go to your computer store you buy 4 mouse pads cheap ones you pull off the picture on the front of it if there is one you cut it into a smaller circle and you just set it on the drup kit no tape required unless you bash the living crap out of it they wont move

i've done this... a tip, if your drums don't work when you do this, or they are less responsive when you hit them, just pop up each of the drum heads ((don't lift them too high, the wire might snap)), and duct tape one, or 2 nickles on the sensor on the bottom of the drum ((there's a metal thing there)), and pop the head back on... it will now be much more responsive, and you can hit them much softer now...
