I loved Tempe... my wife grew up there. Where else could you find The Meat Puppets? Dan & Mary Clark? I played Knights of Pythias Hall MANY times! But downtown Tempe is SO different now, so commercialized... it's Sad. Mill Ave. I hope whomever is doing this doc. gets it...
That's why so many new bands now, come from Tempe/Phoenix area, because a lot of record labels from California, spend a lot of time in Arizona, since it's the closest state, with a big music scene, for young rock bands, or Pop Punk bands.
I really wanna see this doc. I'm old enough now to remember the old Mill when I was 17 or 18 in high school and my friend's band played at Bash on Ash. But the craziest thing is that downtown Phx, which was nothing back in the day, is the place to be now. There are so many independent stores and bars in downtown now. But I think now that Marketplace drove all the cookie cutters off of Mill that Mill can once again become a place where smaller independent stores and bars can thrive.
I hope the film is better than the trailer.

Old music = gone in Tempe
New Rock bands= place to be at

There's no place for people who don't drink on Mill Avenue. That needs to change.

What a great idea for a film! Despite the ups and downs, I still love Mill. 6 East Lounge AKA the beast...RIP.
