Anita 106...well of course she was acting out the story of her love for this man ...!! but Andre DID jump up in her face at the beginning and if you look at her face at 0.07, she looks very perturbed by it...and her performance seems to have suffered by it......also Andfre kissed her hand at the end...instead of her face,,,as he did before...!!...and how do YOU know if she chewed him out or not...?????

@justdessertsful She didnt say anything; she was just acting the song out. The song is about a father and daughter - where the daughter is telling her dad she loves a man, and pleading with him for permission to marry him etc. So I think they were just playing their parts. :)

she says to her father (mr. riu) to have pity and help his boyfriend, to whom she loves, and her father hates because of the relatives who discriminate her for being a new comer to town.

there is no missunderstanding, the attitude of mr. riu at the beggining is because the father wants to drag her daugther far from those people who reject her. but she refuses.

it is a sweet and innocent aria. think good and you will get it.

This aria is about a young girl telling her father that she is in love and wants to marry the boy (evern though he's from a family that doesn't like her family).
