Did you make the hoop yourself? How do you do that?

Also, I used to never be able to hoop, but then my friend had a hoop that had a bit more weight to it and it worked out fine! But I can't seem to find one at drugstores and toystores that is as heavy as the one she has.. Any advice? As I said, I din't think I was able to hoop untill short time ago, so I know nothing about it xD
