First of all, you're not going to get banned. Why? Because the the ban hammer is a joke. I've prestige hacked in every single CoD game that has had prestiges and have not got so much as a warning. In fact, I've only ever heard of 1 person ever getting anything done to them and it wasn't even a bad, it was a reset of his account and I played with him all the time, he didn't even do anything, so it was probably just a glitch.

On a side note, I ping 80ms to LA, and that's over 3000 miles away. ;)

When I get host I cant kill anyone up close. Only when I shoot them at a distance with my good aim will they die. And I have 100mbps connection. Something is definately up. Artificial lag must be it.

I sold Black Ops since I always seemed to have crappy connection for that game only. I play MW2, BBC2, GW2, and RDR and all of them I have a decent connection. In fact, while playing Black Ops, I can't connect to a single Zombie server, and for multiplayer, it takes atleast 7 minutes of just looking for match, and at the end I have the crappiest connection of the lobby. Try shooting something that keeps teleporting across the map and tell me you don't want to destroy your TV.

ISPs just need to offer better upload stats....I could give a fuck about 30 megs down but don't give me only 1 meg up. I pay for 5MB down and usually test to around 12-15MB down and I get barely 1MB up. I'd be happy to take 10MB up to get a few megs of upload.

@BlueDrankFX They don't monitor everyone's personally, they have a system where their computers documents the player connections for each individual account and if the system detects anything unusual in a person's connection such as repeatedly fluctuating ping rates, it'll put them on a list where Treyarch will then personally monitor the connection for a while to determine whether network manipulation is occurring.

im not sur if it is just me but it happens to none of my friend on both the treyarch games i have bought i have the worst connection, it will say i have 3/4 bars every game on both of the games 7 out of the 10 games i play i will time out or lose connection to the host. another thing that happens to my ps3 is when i am downloading game settings about to go online i will sign out of ps3 cannot sign back in until i turn of my ps3 then i will log out if i try again

In all fairness, they shouldn't be adding 'artificial lag' to people with good connections, or anyone for that matter. Balance, you say, Treyarch? Some people didn't pay top dollar for a decent connection only to have it throttled.

That's not happens when you get banned, Bio. For most offenses, and most likely with this one, they just make it so you can't sign in for a few days to a week or two. They wouldn't take away your achievements, that only happens to people who hack Gamerscore. Treyarch might reset your rank for messing with their game though.

When I play through my router Black Ops says I have an open NAT which is what the game recommends but it takes me so long to find a game especially in FFA. Now when I link the xbox straight into the modem. Black ops says that I have a strict NAT but I find games like in a matter of seconds. What's with this? @MrVanagon1 What I believe happens with servers is that the only lag and the only connection is between you and the server. So your lag depends on how fast you can communicate with the server. Everyone else's lag or internet doesn't effect yours as it's only how fast you can connect. So like a faster internet will still win as it will get to the server first but the advantage is there isn't just the one person with the super connection (host) in theory you could all have the same speed.

all the guys that pay for really expensive network speed and dont play pc games...lolz....um how do i say this, your OP connection is doing nothing for you. the fact is console games are designed to not use up more then 1-3Mb at anytime, so if you have a 16Mb down, I hope you're downloading movies while you play. Now there is one way that expensive network will work out for you, the Up time, the consoles pick host by upload speed, the fast your upload the more likely your host.

In Blops I can be online by myself direct connected and I'll still get horrendous hit detection issues. even with 20mb download and 7-9mb upload
