if you look at the basics of sound and rhythm, I feel mainstream music has not changed very much since the New Wave. Sure you had the rap/hip hop genre of the 90s but even that has merged with a more new wave sound today that in my opinion sounds VERY good. This song is fantastic even though it came out several years before i was born its addictive. I thought some of the hiphop music of the 2000s was bland and trashy and Im glad its developed into more melody and rock sound in recent years.

Reminds me of my late niece, Ms Ebele Amobi, died in the mid 90s at her prime. Ebele was a nice young woman full of life. She wanted the best for everybody and did the best for herself. Some days now I have to get up to go to chemotherapy, but this song always gets me up, and I troup to my appointment, and this "Super Trouper" has not yet missed an appointment! Reminds me of my late niece, Ms Ebele Amobi, died in the mid 90s at her prime. Ebele was a nice young woman full of life. She wanted the best for everybody and did the best for herself. She was cut down in the middle of her school exams at Alvin Ikoku College of Education, Owerri and died at Onitsha, after brief hospitalization. Rest in piece Ebele, may perpetual light shine on u!

ABBA lives and rocks. Nobody will ever know how many nights I set a download of this to wake me up the next day! Some days now I have to get up to go to chemotherapy, but this song always gets me up, and I troup to my appointment, and this "Super Trouper" has not yet missed an appointment! Fun, and it gets into our brains. Hopefully it crowds out negative, destructive emotions....

@ja3399 I know what you mean. Was't cancer for me, but I was deathly ill for a while. I'm ok now, but it wasn't until finally leaving the hospital and hearing my favorite music in the CD player on the way home that I really knew I was alive and felt human again. Hope you have a full recovery and quickly.

ABBA is one of my all time favorite groups of their decade. Their songs are so upbeat, and I can listen to them forever.

This is a beautiful song with great harmony but having watched a documentary about ABBA I am struck by the lyrics speaking of the loneliness of stardom and being parted from your family. You can't recapture the lost years of childens growing up no matter how rich and famous you become
