Honestly if I was Japanese and didn't know Kpop much, I would love Rainbow. They really did researched before coming on the show because I can tell that they try really hard.
I guess DSP Entertainment caters to Japan better than most companies in the way they present themselves.
@XAYSHUNEKSTASYX sorry, but I don't think that's good cause their changing their appearance based on what the country likes. They should just be themselves and work on how to make the country like them for who they are and not what others expect them to be. If I was a singer and of course my style is different from the cute Japanese image and i don't mind what they think cause that's me I don't what to be fake to my fans I want to use my real voice & get to the top myself

If we're talking about KARA and Rainbow's personalities, their personalities are the same. The only thing that changed is their music choice (except in Rainbow's case). The girls still put in a lot of effort into performing the songs that are given to them. They're not the ones making their own songs, so I wouldn't really call it fake. Does that mean when SNSD switch from cute to sexy, they're fake? No. People change.
