  • All what what you have shown except the amount of grenades (the like carry boxes with them) is in the game already. yes they shot not accurate but when you progress the game you'll see that if they know that you are there they will shoot at you right on place. though yes you make it a little harder :<)

    Still lovely :). a little more accurate work and it would great mod.

  • Well i remember once i shot one of them and his buddy imediatly knew where i was and shot me in nanoseconds, not much of reallistic ai, just rentless and crazy.

  • Honestly, not that realistic of AI, definately more aggressive. But honestly, when you shoot one of there buddys from 500 yards away, are they really going to be able to figure out EXACTLY where it came from within seconds? not really. Still a bit better than the default though.

  • Well for one, this AI is not supposed to be uber realistic. Since when was Crysis supposed to be a realistic tactical shooter? The point was to make the AI more aggressive and to tailor more to the Crysis like gameplay. Which is fast and relentless, not realistic. And they did not know exactly where i was, they just suppressed wherever they heard the sound of my sniper rifle or gun, see if i fired a round and then ran away, they would not know where i was when they got within visual range.

  • that wasn't a smart ai, they dont take cover, but i don't think your intended to make it really smart, your trying to improve it, so i got no negative thing to say, but the Killzone2 ai really does impress me, taking cover is always the smartest thing to do when gun fighting, i'll say no bad job of what your done.

  • thanks all of you for the positive comments. Check my thread to see my new update :) Basically i am redoing the AI scripts from like scratch and will make more challenging AI.

  • most excellent sir, on the off chance you could make an add on to go with this limiting how much ammo you can carry? say 2 mags per weapon tops?

  • do they use flash nades if they have you cornered? also, do they have an ammo count, or is it infinite? and they throw the smokes way too far. also i noticed they dont really yell words as much in the modded ai version as much. just (seamingly) random korean phrases.

  • you should press 2 on the numpad in the editor (after pressing ctrl+g) to get unlimited ammo (no reloads) for demonstration purposes

  • Okay, I'll try this mod when I play crysis again this summer... but are there any other mods that you recommend to make crysis harder?

    I played crysis a total of 6 times, once normal, 3 times on delta, once on hard and once on easy (just wanted to go rambo) and I found them all to be too easy.

    i thought the nanosuit enemies at night were a little too hard. but i played natural mod so maybe it was just darker than crytek had planned and thus more confusing.

  • A.I., one of the most important elements in a proper shooter or strategy game. What we have here is rather good A.I., since it suits the purpose of the soldiers.

  • why? its an empty map with some random buildings, there is a map thats a sorta cityish in the beta i released.

  • Um its in the decsription, sometimes people just need to read ;). And the SAW is still atm really 3rd person, i have a diferent model by radcliff, as a first persson, but they both look completely different from first and third, first (radcliff) and third is (fortran)

  • I need help please :) . I try to put the mod in sandbox and when i open a map it doesn't saw the cover2 flanker , follower etc but it has the old AI i tested it. Could you tell me what to do ? I've changed the properties of the icon but again nothing PLEASE HELP !!! (i tried the TANK.cry map.) if i make my own map there is no architype entity anywhere !!! do you know what to do ?   • um its lua mate, its not the old AI, thats just the archetype entities, and hopefully you put the mod in the right folder and created the right shortucts and stuff

  • dont want to piss on your parade here, but i dont see smarter ai... i see more agressive ai, but not very much smarter... they just advance and shoot alot... smart would be flanking you and making use of cover...

    like the more responsiveness of them tho... and the fact that they lay down supression fire (or just keep firing wildly some might say hehe)

  • well ur kinda stupid on the account that i already mentioned in my thread that i have heavily changed the AI, they are both aggresive and smart on using cover and flanker depending on class. You may also be stupid on the account that it also depends on level design with cover points, nav points such, i dont see you creating anything nice or useful either ;) And if you knew what you were talking about, then you wouldnt have made so many mistakes in what you were saying. Go do research on this mod

    and dont blame it on level design and cover points... cos if you want to show off SMARTER ai then maby you should include a level with better design and cover that will show that off..

I already said about 2 weeks ago i already added more smarter, aggresive, and what not AI. And you wanna make a level?? Some people are good at certain things mate, and if you knew about lvel design, then you would know that you would have to put alot of cover points, hide points, nav points and what not ok. And im not making personal attacks.

    & If you can't atleast make some sort of tutorial how you got the effect so others may try out their own versions. I've messed around with the LUA alot lately but mostly by Trial and error, seeing as the code is basically Moonspeak to me lol.

  • Question: Say you stand at point of origin. An AI is 10 feet in front of you, and an AI is 200 feet from you. Will the AI that is 200 feet throw a smoke grenade still? Also, will the AI that is 200 feet away still continue to shoot, or will he move closer and allow the AI that is 10 feet away do most of the work?

  • Wow, this isamazing, Crysis AI sucked until this day! They seem alittle one track minded tho,like they dont seem to want to look for cover, just kill the first enemy they see. Can yu pm me all the details? That would be awesome :)

    And im sorry but if you have ever did sandbox before, in order for them to take cover you need to put smart objects for them to take cover, i have all the cover things in there, i just didnt use any cover ojbects in the video.

  • oh ok, i see. i kidna figured yu needed to put cover points, sweet, thei will be sucj an awesome mod. I dont see the point of making a mod that tries to improve upon somthing like graphics, when the AI is not so great in the game. Looks like your gonna pull this one off just fine :)

    one question though, are they gonna be that accurate in the final build? they seem like robots that can shoot at precisely from a kilometer away, lol.
