When I saw them last month they opened with this song...Brenden sang his opening verse and then when Jack stepped to the mike for his part the entire place went wild. It was so great.

I like seeing Jack with the band because it does tend to focus him a little better than when he is with the Stripes. No that a Stripes concert is not great--it is--but Jack does tend to go off of the reservation a bit sometimes. I like it but I know not everyone responds well to his live performances.

To be honest I prefer when Brendan sings in Racounteurs an Jack focuses on guitar. I like his voice, but their songs are simply classics as they're born and Jack has tendency to rape his own creations live.

Ok, fine, that's your opinion, and this is mine. IN MY OPINION i think Brendan Benson is a better musician than Jack White (i'm not stating as a fact that he is, i'm saying that's my views), because i prefer his music, although i love both musicians, i do prefer Brendan, i think all his solo records are incredible. Maybe you should stop being so narrow minded and accept that other people have opinions that may differ to yours.

I prefer Jack, but I will agree with you that Brendan is a great musician. He is probably on an equal footing with Jack in terms of songcraft. Switch and the Spur, mostly Brendan. Old Enough, mostly Brendan.

Either way, my favorite band.

Agreed.Jack White's guitar has tinges of Hendrix and he and Brendon Benson are very different musically,but still work well together.
