I think he's using a bit suitable for ceramic. That would be what I'd try first. Maybe any bit would do; I don't know. Experiment. Hole placement is wherever you can comfortably lay your fingers, it's not critical. Four on top, two on bottom is how most Ocarinas of this style are arranged. Make each hole a note higher, using a diatonic scale.

It's an ocarina bro. Xuns don't have a fipple (in this case a straw), xuns use a hole which you blow in like a flute. Just because xuns have egg shaped bodies doesn't make everything with an egg shaped body a xun.

@Samoriah i wasn't thinking about shape. the straw is not a fipple it would be the windway that leads to the fipple if it were an ocarina. its as if he made a xun and put a straw on it. you blow over the hole not into it. the straw just makes it easier to keep the angle right.
