I just got this a few weeks ago for cold brew. Great stuff, and I prefer it over the Toddy and Filtron, from design to practicality. Cleanup is easy and you don't have to continuously buy paper filters.
@infamousmonster Yeah, it's definitely easy to clean. I like it that it has the sealing lid, too, in case you have something nefarious in your fridge...won't affect your coffee's flavor ;) - Kat
If I had to wait 24 hours for a coffee... I'd probably end up banging on the fridge like the crack addict in Futurama episode "My Three Suns" banging on the crack vending machine :-)
@YoungJim409 Haha -- trust us, when this system is in progress, we're definitely using other devices to get our coffee fix ;) -Rob (Kat's personal YouTube assistant while she's on vacation)
The cold brew looks great, but quite expensive to use in the long run if you need to use double the amount of coffee though. Have you tried warming up the coffee after you cold brewed it, and maybe diluted it a bit to see how it goes?
Few questions. Is this basically a larger version of their French press? Is there a difference in the fineness of the strainer? Did you notice sediment in the cup? Thanks!
@ConsumerFanatics Yes, no, no. You still have to grind pretty coarsely like you do with a regular press, so you end up using more coffee than other methods. - Kat
@SeattleCoffeeGear Interesting how you didn't notice sediment in the cup as you normally would with a press. Any reason why? Is it due to the amount of coffee used?
@ConsumerFanatics Could be or the grinder we used - the Vario. It could also be that I didn't drink it at the bottom and maybe some of my co-workers got some sediment in their cups :) - Kat
@SeattleCoffeeGear 1/2 I top it. We here in Iceland have had in the East part to take the sheeps inside two times in May and June because of snow and we had the coldest June for over 60 years. Last night the temperature was around 39°F in the North part and farmers are in some parts only getting 1/4th of the grass from the fields or they had to wait for first cutting until month later than usual. Then we had Volcano eruption 2nd year in a row a
@SeattleCoffeeGear 2/2 Then last week the main road around the country was cut when the river took down a bridge at the high season for the travel industry.
And then now after so cold June we have so hot July in south part that the fields burn and lot of troubles for the farmers.

What is your opinion of the Bodum Bean Cold Brew vs the Hario Cold Brew Pot?
garbon2535 7 months ago
@garbon2535 I'd go with the Hario or the Sowden myself because they allow for a finer grind and therefore less coffee usage - Kat

@ASFx2600 We didn't warm it up or dilute it; it was decimated by our crew :) - Kat
