Man I just got this game and I'm really disappointed...basically they put out all the good things I loved in Divine Divinity 1... You can't even kill NPCs...Okay theres exploring but without item display button I'm bound to miss something and I'm a perfectionist kind of dude when playing RPGs. It doesn't matter THAT MUCH, you can easily play D2 without the knowledge of the first, but MAKE SURE you play Divine Divinity someday, as it is just as excellent as D2.
Also, make you sure you play The Dragon Knight Saga version of Ego Draconis as it has been fixed and upgraded. Divinity: The Dragon Knight Saga is basically a revamped version of Ego Draconis with Flames of Vengeance exp pack included.
This game starts out really slow and quite cheesy. The models and animation are indeed quite dubious, and most characters are seriously underdeveloped. But the game grows on you. The dungeons are very clever, the quests can be quite challenging (none of that MMORPG grocery list quest design), and the level design is in some places (e.g. sentinel island) easily the most epic I have ever seen in a game. Literally jaw-dropping.
This game kinda sucks .....compared to other rpg's ....two worlds 2 also . Rpgs that deserve to be played are : Risen , sykrym ( when will come out ) and witcher 2

Oblivion is and always will be horrible. Morrowind was just as bad if not worse. Daggerfall was decent back in its day but I'm not sure how well an updated remake would be received today. My biggest beef with Oblivion (aside from the horrid combat, lack of regen, ugly character models and laughable stat system) is the fact that everything about your character and his actions seems so insignificant.

This is one of the better RPGs on the PC. It's done what very few RPGs have been able to do (and even many books in the genre) lately. It's simple but deep. I shouldn't have to break out a flow chart to keep track of this faction's alliances with some other faction or this town's grievance with some other town. This game gets it right. The scope is narrow but the gameplay is wide in breadth. It's not overly complex just for complexity's sake and that's part of its charm.

Funny.. Yeah the main character runs weird but the graphics in general (and the voice acting for that matter) are only about a million times better and more immersive than Oblivion or Fallout 3 and people talk about those games like they're the new coming of Christ.
@mitsy48 I agree to a point, but when you're trying to tell a story, if an NPC switches between one of three voices every time you ask them something, that doesn't help the story come to life. Not to mention if every other villager, king or necromancer has the same voice, intonation and basic face.
But I'm not badmouthing Oblivion, it was a fun game for what it was, I just meant to say it's weird to me that people are so critical of this game when everyone loved Oblivion so much.

Oblivion was and still is the best RPG to play but only when will come TES V... I played this game, and i must say it is very entertaining and fun. You can explore freely, find hidden caves, hidden buttons on walls to find treasure and much more. You can even turn into a dragon later in the game, and you find armor for your dragon too. So this game is pretty good(my opinion). Ofcourse he runs like a fag but who cares? When i had played it a few days, i didn't even care about the running, i just enjoyed a wonderfull game!

The gameplay for oblivon far exceeds this. Oblivion has more quests, A larger world, More options for character creation and more options in the game world. It has branching storylines. As this is mostly linear.
Oblivion was one of the best games ever created. The End.

@mitsy48 I agree to a point, but when you're trying to tell a story, if an NPC switches between one of three voices every time you ask them something, that doesn't help the story come to life. Not to mention if every other villager, king or necromancer has the same voice, intonation and basic face.
But I'm not badmouthing Oblivion, it was a fun game for what it was, I just meant to say it's weird to me that people are so critical of this game when everyone loved Oblivion so much.

@tjock18 i have not tryed Divinity 2 but for the PC two worlds 2 ( only tryed on the PC) you instantly see that its made mostly for console. if youre looking for a good RPG game for PC you should try Risen, thats an awesome game :)

You're busting your ass all game, saving some random ass dude, trying to take the amulet back so he can light the dragon fires, and you're sitting there slaying lame ass mobs, then this giant monster demon comes, you wanna fight it, then the dude you've been saving is like "suicide attack!!!!" the gameplay was retardedly boring, the melee combat sucked ass, it was just SLASHSLASHSLASH!!! CLICK! SLASH!

Not to mention the AI were among the most retarded swash bucklers I've ever seen, they always run in front of you when you go to shoot an arrow or use magic saying "DIE FOUL DEMON!" you hit them on accident, they attack you, you yeild, they're fine again, then they get killed anyways by the damn enemy. The diversity of that game was pitiful

@bhdrandyal1993 :| that game has terrible controls, magic, and overall terrible acting, a lame story that doesn't make sense half the time, and weird ass controls for riding a horse, not to mention all the fetch quests in a sequence before you get to the actual story. "go here for the main quest, he'll tell you what to do" the guy sends you off on some random ass journey to some other guy who sends you to find some object return, give it to another guy, who then makes you do his chores.

Oblivion was and still is the best RPG to play but only when will come TES V... I played this game it isnt so bad, its boring after some hours played because its very hard but its like 2x times worse than oblivion. Gothic has fallen down because of such bad game as Gothic IV maybe Risen 2 will be in top who knows but there always be antifans who hate oblivion and will say its not great game...

I played this game, and i must say it is very entertaining and fun. You can explore freely, find hidden caves, hidden buttons on walls to find treasure and much more. You can even turn into a dragon later in the game, and you find armor for your dragon too. So this game is pretty good(my opinion). Ofcourse he runs like a fag but who cares? When i had played it a few days, i didn't even care about the running, i just enjoyed a wonderfull game!

i didnt like it. it was wack to me. controls were weird, not smooth but graphics looked good and so did the story but the controls felt like you were on a grid. it should have been like fable 3 control wise. the game would have been great

@Vire70 Umm utter fail? I'll ignore your nerdy internet lingo. But i will say that it's not just judging it by awards. The Oblivion fan base is about 50x larger then Divinity. I could go on and on. The gameplay for oblivon far exceeds this. Oblivion has more quests, A larger world, More options for character creation and more options in the game world. It has branching storylines. As this is mostly linear.
Oblivion was one of the best games ever created. The End.
