  • I think that it is fine to have some juice but nothing w/ sugar added . I think that would be fine if u juice do a liquid fast . U have to stay hydrated .

  • @imabee2010 Yes, you need to stay hydrated. But use water and green tea. Don't forget that juice contains calories and especially concentrated juice which is just another word for sugar. The point is to intake no or very very few calories during the 24 hour fast.

  • What can I eat while I am fasting??

Nothing stupid! What do you think they call it fasting for?

  • Hi Brad!

I just had a small quick question. I noticed my drink mix has 5 calories in it. Is this okay to have during my fast, or should I just stick with completely 0 calories drinks. It was just something to flavor my water, as I drink a lot of it on my fasting days. It used to have 0, but now it says 5. Thanks!

  • @smallsushicat I don't think that 5 calories is really something you need to sweat about. As long as you are not eating, it's fine. Try green or white tea, though. It's much better for you than any mix.

  • I love your messages.

  • are you meant to have protein shakes on the days of fasting or nothing at all!!

  • nothing at all.

  • @unclegarrad Protein shakes should be avoided for a couple of reasons. 1) They pretty much do nothing for you. You shouldn't worry about muscle loss as that doesn't occure until after 72 hours straight of fasting 2) They contain calories. Quite a lot, actually. So, just stay away.

  • so we should only ever eat when we are hungry not 4 to 6 small meals? Its o.k. to get that hunger pain in your stomach on non fasting days? Thanks!! Of course eat healthy I know! lol

  • I've enjoyed your videos and have spent some time on your website. I was wondering what your book will tell me other than to fast 1 or 2 days per week. I'm sure the book goes into the science behind it and why it works, and I'm sure you provide an exercise program. But what if I already believe the science behind it and I already have a good, intense workout program...can't I just start fasting 2-days each week? Why do I need the book?

  • I think people really over complicate training. It has to challenging, intense and progressive. Hit those three an you will grow.

If you don't have weights, body weight exercises can work, but they still need to meet the three requirements above.

  • if you don't have any access to weighs whatsoever, will bodyweight circuits preserve muscle mass in any way on a diet??? also, do you prefer lifting fast or slow? is it true lifting slow, your muscles work harder because momentum isn't involved? also, some experts and people say yo have to lift fast, but if you're handling heavy weights, it isn't possible to lift fast. any thoughts on this?thanks brad
