  • Respect to thiszz man and alwyszz welll remember

  • to have lived and not appreciated this, I consider poverty indeed!

  • and perhaps:

"...and don't worry about looking at the score."

  • I swear I've heard this beat somewhere before. The start comes out golden

  • One of the singlest best ever things I ever heard. To hear Jimi is to hear the footsteps of a butterfly wooing. Long live Jimi!

  • Few will ever be this proficient and none will ever play with more conviction or feeling. This was recorded over 42 years ago and sounds alive as if today. Equal parts of sensitive song writer, master showman, and voodoo priest equals genius.

  • 4 people couldn't make over the rainbow!

  • This song is fucking great. enough said.

  • Haven't heard this in yrs! Glad to hear it again!!

  • unbelivible how good he was!and 3 people in the worled have no taste in musick

  • this song is earthblues played slowly!

  • @TheRetroguitar Wow they are quite similar sound when slowed down and when you take out the overdubed parts of Earth Blues

  • I was lucky enough to see Hendrix twice. Neither of us remember.

  • @tixximmi Damn !! I'm always fascinated by people that experienced the 60s,, i mean most players nowadays are like 99.9% technique wich is ridiculous !! a monkey can learn how to play extremely skilled but only a few are gifted with true soulplaying

  • Reaching up

  • when I play mw2, earphones connected to jimi, not screen

  • @xaladolokiyo isnt that kinda oxymoronic? jimi was about peace bruh.

  • if anybody made a pact with the devil it had to be jimi, nobody has a right to be this good

  • @paddie3535 No......I think it was god! lol

  • @paddie3535 Naw, That's God. Not the Devil. By the grace of GOD we were blessed with Jimi.

  • beautiful as always..

& at 2.47 he says "...as far as i know they they may even try to wrap me up in cellophane & sell me"

this statement means a lot to me about probebly how hendrix felt as being made into sailable product by the music industry.

  • amen to civil rights, looks like jimi hendrix was singing about racist people.

  • Somewhere over 9000.

  • his songs can never be long enough

  • cool song from a great guitarist, but what the heck does it have to do with "over the rainbow"? If he had performed that classic tune, like Phil Collins did at end of the brilliant album "Face Value", man... that would've been awesome!

  • no match, the bestever

  • nothing is less than three

  • Is it wrong I was thinking Judy Garland somewhere over the rainbow when I clicked this?

  • @thepurplecrystalz BURN IN HELL!!!

  • Jimi is the best

  • @234 Back at the saloon my tears mix in mildew with my dreams, can't really tell my feet from the sawdust on the floor.

  • At 0:42 he says, "WHOA LORD please give us a helpin hand" (not "hold on")

At 1:14 he says, "...weapons barkin out the STING of death"

At 2:44 he says, "...can't really tell my feet from the SAWDUST on the floor."

  • @robko6262 you have way too much time on your hands

  • @DrDonkeyKong1 lolz that's what a dumb person says to somone who is smarter than they are

  • @DrDonkeyKong1 why because he ks the lyrics, lol come on now

  • Comment removed

  • the best ever and forever

  • please what album is this??

  • from the bottom of the sea.............

  • Every hendrix song is like a prolonged ear ejaculation

  • this song should be more famous than it is

  • what album is this ?

  • @Dianu234 Crash Landing.

  • @Dianu234 i found it. the album is called crash landing

  • @brucebannerization Now we're on the same page. Sheet, even.

    Lonliness is

    Such a

    Drag..

  • What a terrific track. The man was a fret board genius. Rock on Jimi.

  • Man, true word really stands out, even a person who wasn't so religious new what life was all about.

  • Lyrics corrections:

"OH LORD, please give us a helping' hand" NOT "Hold on..."

"I can imagine UFOs CHUCKLIN" to themselves..." NOT "...Jumpin' themselves..."

"...I can't really telll my feet from the SAWDUST on the floor..." NOT "Stones on the floor..."

  • I wish some one would make a reversed version of this song(Backwards)

  • made song, oi its "oh lord" not "hold on" well i think anyway

  • The lyrics for this song is wrong. Jimi doesnt say "Hold on please give us a helpin hand". Insted its "Oh Lord...". People always try to mix up what people say, like when people tried changing the lyrics of "Imagine" by John Lennon

  • Are the guitars all Hendrix layered over eachother or where there other players with him?

  • @TheMckenzieman-Great question! Jimi literally played Rhythm, Bass & Lead guitar ALL simultaneously & on ONE guitar while singing!- This is well known & the Crash Landing album contains some of the best examples of this amazing feat...As kids my friends & I also wondered about this although it is known today to be ONE of the things that makes Jimi FAR more talented than ANY other guitar player in history. True GENIUS & far more difficult than many of his other stunts like playing with his teeth

  • @TheMckenzieman-Great question...~Jimi could literally play Rhythm, Bass & Lead all simultaneously & on ONE guitar while singing!-This is well known today although had us all wondering when I was a teenager...

TRUE GENIUS & far more difficult than playing guitar with his teeth & his other stunts...I've never heard of ANYONE capable of this & he didn't just barely pull it off, he played highly technical music this way.

The #1 guitar player & composer/musician of the last several hundred years.

  • Despite the drugs, alcohol, acid( I mean that literally), Hendrix was and will always be the best.

  • "But as far as I know, they may even try to wrap me up in cellophane and try and sell me

Brothers help me, and dont worry about lookin at the storm" and no one listened...

  • This sounds so much better on vinyl!

  • 2 people aren't listening properly

  • Lyric Corrections .That would be .Oh lord please give us a helping hand .And that would be sawdust on the floor .Not the stones on the floor.Great posting.

  • That would be .Oh lord please give us a helping hand .And that would be sawdust on the floor .Not the stones on the floor.

  • the 2 ppl who dislike this song are lost somewhere over the rainbow !

  • I believe this masterpiece must inspired JM when he was making little 'solo' into Waitin' on the World to change

  • its brilliant material but those the backing is by session musos, what say did Jimi have in controlling Crash landing and

  • my favorite Hendrix's song. The craziest, more innovative Hendrix song ever!!!

  • i likey.

  • this is one of the few songs that can be categorized as a "Masterpiece", in every sense of the world.

  • 0 people can disagree with this

  • This is his best song. Way way under-rated. Even most Jimi fans dont know this one

  • The first time i heard this song it came on my friends speakers, we were in a park on top of a boulder, we had both eaten some shrooms, this song came on just as i was peaking, ever since than it gives me goosebumps when i hear it. jimi you are the man.

  • Comment removed

  • very sad that song is known by not so many people...

  • ... jeeeeesus, what sounds ....

  • Nice song yeah, but many of the lyrics shown here are wrong.

  • Awsome tune. Been looking for this version for years. Thanks for posting...

    Minor correction. 4th line is

Oh Lord, please give us a helpin hand,

    rather than...

Hold on please give us a helpin hand,

  • i do beleive it is "saw dust on the floor" not stones on the floor

  • @slickluke01 "I hear pleas and prayers and a desperate whisper sayin,

Hold on please give us a helpin hand"

Do you think he could be saying "Oh Lord" insted of "Hold on"? It only makes more sense, also because its a sad reality. Listen closely

  • fucking love that bassline

  • it's weapons barking out the STING of death, not stamp.

  • what guitar is he using in this picture? obviously a strat but what kind i mean

  • Comment removed

  • @mrpootenmir Back then there was only ONE strat. It's THE strat, no artist copies nothing. It's an american standard right-handed fender stratocaster in cream.

  • Oops, pressed thumbs down. OBVIOUSLY not. It's brilliant.

  • this is the most underrated song ever written its up wit little wing and all along the watchtower (Beside the popularity)

  • @cornholio530 Just play the song for them!!

  • where is this from? it seems like just when i think i've heard the best that jimi had to offer, i find another song to blow my mind away. when i first got into hendrix, it was because of his playing. now i know that he was much more than an entertainer. he was also a philosopher and a poet. at least thats how i see it

  • @NANDO218 It's on the Crash Landing Album.

  • "But as far as I know, they may even try to wrap me up in cellophane and try and sell me

Brothers help me, and dont worry about lookin at the storm"

  • @wethepeople469 I Think He Says Store.

  • You've been flying somewhere for 40 years and you're energy is still feeding our souls, and forever will

  • fuck i told the kids in my english class about this song and the looked at me like a tard ok how do explain this song????

  • Stardust would have been fitting too.

  • god dam mitch i have to give you props groovy beats perfect fuckin trio

  • Killer...Killer Tune!

  • Can't quite say what i really want too but maybe you can feeeeel .... me

  • LEARN WITH THE NIGGA.... i kiss Hendrix ass

  • One of the finest Hendrix songs ever written....ranks with The Electric Ladyland album.

  • janie needs to listen to jimis words at the end of this."as far as i know they may even try to wrap me in cellophane and sell me.try to sell me ,and dont worry about lookin at the score."

  • have you read his biography? the one his friend wrote, not any of the ones put out by experience hendrix aka janie hendrix's bullshit

  • @bigrik2008 and its also "I can't really tell my feet from the stardust on the floor"

    this song is really deep.

  • @silencerro I think that's "SAWDUST on the floor", as in a saloon, y'know?

  • @bigrik2008 thats a rather prophetic statement to make since they made several albums AFTER his death. It was also well known among Jimi's closest friends that his manager owed the mob money and Yameta, his production Company located in the Bahamas was being used to launder mob money. See if yu can find the Hendrix tribute with Guitar Player magazine from the late 70's. jimi is on the cover and it includes several of these and other stories

  • "sawdust on the floor" is the lyric - great song, great post - thanks man

  • cool!

  • che pezzo!

  • awsome tune
