The human mind is a curious thing, after hundreds of thousands of years of developing in groups, the first thing even subconsiously, is facial recognition. if you allow your mind to wander its possible to see faces in everything. i can clearly make out a racoons head also - its just above and between the eyes - this is called simulcra. finally, from a purely financial standpoint, why would nasa ignore something that if true would surely not only boost thier budget, but also its global esteem?

Look like a skull.

Considering that I've found many unusual for, as it's thought by many, a "lifeless planet" objects myself and pretty much know that there was life on Mars before it cooled down, I'd say it's a very good candidate to be a real skull of a living, possibly intelligent, being that used to walk on Mars when it still could support life. Of course it could also be a rock that looks like a skull. Hopefully we will have a chance to find out one day.
